Columbia Snow Powder Down Bunting - Infant Boys'

August 25, 2009

I'm thinking of getting this for my nephew who will be 5 months old in December when he'll need it for the northern winter. Should I get the 6 mo or the 12 mo, which he could possibly also use through some of the southern hemisphere winter, too? I expect he will be on the larger side as he grows up so am leaning towards the 12 mo, but I don't want it to be too huge during the time that he'll need it for serious cold temperatures.

Patagonia Margot Dress - Women's

Patagonia Margot Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 2, 2009

OK, further to my review earlier where I got the medium and it was a tad too informative about my less-than-svelte lower half: I now have the large and while it's a bit loose on top, it now drapes nicely. It's really comfortable, and I like the pattern (Spanish Tiles) a lot. I'm going to put a stitch in the bodice to keep it from gaping, given that it's more roomy than I need, but now I have a nice little dress to wear through summer.

Patagonia Margot Dress - Women's

It's a nice weight fabric: the spandex gives it some body so it's not super drapey but it might be too clingy if you are not very slim.

Great dress but not for the pear-shaped.

Patagonia Margot Dress - Women's

Patagonia Margot Dress - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 May 18, 2009

I was hoping this dress might not be so slim-fitting in the skirt as it turned out to be on me (got a medium as large Patagonia stuff is usually too big). Way too much information around the hip and belly area, which was a shame, as the top half was perfect, and I liked the length. Not sure whether I should exchange up to large as I am worried there will be too much space for the girls, but at this point it's going to be a return for me.
Unless you are slim around the waist and hips, this dress will be very clingy -

Not for me

KEEN Jasper Shoe - Women's

KEEN Jasper Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 December 3, 2008

I ended up returning mine for two reasons.
First, the QC people at Keen must have been asleep on the job because one shoe was made up all crooked.
Second, while the shoe was certainly comfortable enough (I'm 8.5 and got a 9, which was perfect) and the colour was nice (port royal/rust), I just didn't like the duck-foot look that they had once on. I know many people love Keens but these were just a bit too blunt at the toe for my liking.
Thanks, Backcountry - great service as always!
