Great fabric

Ex Officio Trip'r Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Ex Officio Trip'r Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2009

I didn't keep this shirt as the fit wasn't right for me, but the fabric is the nicest feeling nylon blend (80% nylon, 20% poly) that I've ever felt.

Fits around several water bottles well!

Snow Peak Trek 700 Titanium Cooker

Snow Peak Trek 700 Titanium Cooker

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2009

If you're not nesting a stove in this pot, it fits almost perfectly around the stainless Nalgene (made by Guyot designs -I can't vouch for the standard Nalgenes although I suspect that they would be fine too) and also the large size 40oz Klean Kanteen. The included mesh sack also reaches to the shoulder / neck of both of these bottles so that you can tighten the draw cord and keep the bottle / pot securely together. Great combination!

Great pot- great lid

MSR Titan Titanium Kettle

MSR Titan Titanium Kettle

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2009

The best thing about this pot is the lid. The lid sits flat with the top of the pot for compact storage and it also fits tightly. The vented lid also retains the right amount of steam to more effectively and efficiently cook things like oatmeal and rice! I also really like the dimensions- it's tall enough to hold a decent amount of water without filling right to the brim and risking boil-over, and it's also wide enough to fit stably on many stoves. I have several pieces of titanium cookware from Snow Peak, Evernew and MSR, and this Titan Kettle is the most versatile.

spiffy chop sticks!

Snow Peak Carry-on Chopsticks

Snow Peak Carry-on Chopsticks

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2009

These are some really well made chop sticks! They're well balanced, compact, and easy to clean. The case will also hold a Snow Peak short spork, in addition to the sticks, for added versatility. They may not be essential, but your friends will be jealous.

Great cut for tall/slim people

Mountain Hardwear Chockstone Softshell Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Chockstone Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2009

I am 6'3" 185lbs, with a really long torso, and the large model is one of the best fitting jackets that I've ever owned. I bought a black model originally and recently ordered a Titanium colored backup from backcountry.com. While the fit is still great, the titanium model uses darker stitching than the body fabric which creates quite a bit of contrast and takes away from the clean lines of the jacket. I recommend sticking with a darker model. Otherwise, the jacket is great! It's light, packs small and sheds water well. Highly recommended if you need a long-fitting jacket.

Great cutlery

Snow Peak Titanium Silverware Set

Snow Peak Titanium Silverware Set

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2009

There are two reasons to buy this Snow Peak titanium set over the more reasonably priced competition: 1) the case and 2) the knife. The kit is held together by a nylon case, rather than a clip, and while this case adds to the weight it also protects items in your pack from getting scratched and skewered by your cutlery. Also, the knife is not serrated so it won't scratch up your plates and cookware so badly, but it still cuts well. I wish the bowl of the spoon was a little bit deeper to hold more soup, but other than that this set is perfect.

Good stuff!

Snow Peak Trek 1400 Titanium Cookset

Snow Peak Trek 1400 Titanium Cookset

Rating for this product: 5 April 14, 2009

I like a taller pot like this because you can leave some margin at the top of the pot to prevent boil over without loosing all of your capacity like you do with shorter and wider pots. The lid/pan isn't big enough for much cooking, but it makes a great dish for eating out of. The handles of both pieces are sturdy and, wile the ones on the pot do not extend very far and may get hot, I have never been concerned about them collapsing on me. Well done, Snow Peak.
