i opted for the cartels instead of the triads or CO2's because of all the breakage issues....i lucked out with this combo! The black Cartel EST's match the Custom X in everyway, no matter what color CX you have. the 4 colors on the cartels high backs correspond with each of the 4 colors the CX comes in, and with the 4 colors on the PDE's

this is all the hardware you will ever need for an ICS board, and it comes with the board, not the bindings.
A. bolts are slid into the channel
B. these plugs are used to keep the bolts from falling out of the channel if by some mis-hap
C. (optional) retro disks for using non-est BURTON bindings
D. 4 screws bolt everything down tight

Current contents: 181 Bag
-3 Shell jackets
-1 Synthetic inulation jacket (BULKY)
-2 Shell Pants
-1 Synthetic insulation pant (BULKY)
-1 Helmet
-2 Goggles
-1 Pair Boots
-1 Snowboard (155) with bindings attached
-Total weight: 40 Lbs.
-I dont know about you but when i go on a trip i usually just bring one board and all my chothes cuz c'mon, stuff does get wet. Now granted i didnt bring everything for an exteded trip but there was plety room to spare for little things like beanies and bandanas and tools, definitly, maybe even a softshell and a few baselayers...i just packed the essentials.
-Also im not an ulrtalight hiker or anything and i like my stuff baggy so everything in there is pretty bulky and heavy and it still all fit very nicley...no extreme measures were used to pack; no stuff sacks, no vaccum bags, no sitting on the bag and zipping it up, but everything is just simply folded nicley. this is a HUGE bag

this is a fire lens, hard to find but get one if you can...notice the completley mirrored surface, see through lenses drive me CRAZY and if youre the same way then look to von zipper...idk how they do it but when they say "chrome" they mean it!...UNLESS, there it is a "smoke crome" lens then you can see through it a little.

I had that happen to me with both these and my EG2's, it happened when I wrapped them up in the bag without letting them properly dry out after boarding...all the moisture built up between the lenses and took a good few hours of room-temp venting to fix
The other thing I've had happen was that fog built up on the inside of the lens, like normal...but it was really cold and I popped them up into my forehead to see, the fog on the inside of the lens turned to ice and then the ice fogged the space between the lenses...did you expose the inside of the lens to the cold air?

I've had terrible problems with fogging ever since I started snowboarding, and so far these have been all but fog proof, and I've definitely put them to the test. they're the best I've seen, and In the past I've gone through top models from Oakley, Dragon, Von Zipper, and Electric (I love goggles a little too much).
While the laws of physics might prevent you from being able to see during really sweaty activities, these will likely serve you quite well under normal circumstances, especially if you don't wear a helmet

What size should I order?
My hand width is right in between small and medium according to the chart. I don't have very large hands or very long fingers.
I wear a size small Dakine gloves (stingray and Bronco) and that fits perfect (albeit snug, but that's how I prefer it to fit)
Dexterity and fit is important in this case because I'll be using them to take pictures with my dslr, should I try and squeeze into the small or play it safe and get the mediums?
Thanks for any help

Hi.
Its a pretty easy and streamlined process, since youre asking a question you already have an account, so itll be even easier for you.
Just fill out your address information in the checkout area, once you do that all your shipping options and costs will be presented for you. Once you have filled all that out then input your credit card info, and process the order, the order will be confirmed on the spot and will be shipped out usually the next buisness day.
As for you being a long term customer, this is a great site, plus they save your adress and you have to option to save your credit card information (safley and securely) to further streamline the process of ordering in the future.

theres people that would disagree with me but i would grab the biggest size possible, that is if you are using it for air travel...a snowboard bag is a big thing already, so you might as go all out. and the great thing is you can fit a helmet, pair of boots, or any other large object in the front or back of the bag. and there will just be more room in general.

yes any EST binding will truly complete this board and burton reccomends the CO2 EST specifically. BUT i reccomend the Cartels EST's (in black) becuase most of burtons really high end bindings are very very fragile, and the cartels are the stiffest EST bindings.

Goretex softshell is a bit less durable but softer to the touch, slightly stretchy, and way more breathable, and of course its totaly waterproof. thanks for the input guys...i can only afford one of these all mountian decks cuz im gunna get a fix or a hero for improving my park abilities so i need to pick the right one....and Taylor the summer snow in Timberline is amazing. The slush is as soft and forgiving as powder, but its as fast as a fresh groomer on a january morning. no wet soggy slow board grabbing crap!...and timberline is like the place to be in summer, just make sure you bring your skills and a humble attitude, cuz i though i was a halfway decent rider till i saw what the riders at timberline could do. im talkin back flips off of lil bumps in the ground and 7's at hair raising heights off of relativly small kickers that i could barley clear!

Huge difference, pardon my pun but its almost like night and day...sensor is great for flat light and low light, some people (particularly Angus Bohanon) would contest that its the best flat light lens ever, and i see no reason to argue with that...Platinum mirror is a much darker lens (lets in %45 less light and is smiths second darkest lens) and is better for the lighter half of the spectrum, from party cloudy to very bright sun...and its really a toss up, its a good idea to have both really, but the sensor mirror seems more versatile for everything except bright sun

Haha thank you, and ok...Basically all signs point to the slash, but its really about prefrence
...me, i love park boards like this because i spend most of my days buttering and jumpin off anything i can find (if there are no parks), however i dont spend much time in bowls or bombing double blacks. I like a fun flexible ride such as this one
...i wouldnt like the sick stick because it is more of a big mountian board, BUT that board would fair much better on bigger terrain...so pick your poison bro,
...also you have a medium flexing boot and medium flexing bindings so that combo might not have enough guts to turn the sick stick effectivly
...this will definitly be easier to progress on but its not super soft so it will still hold up to better riding and bigger runs, and if you ask me the 158 is puuuuurfect size for you. So all in all, the slash wins...plus i remember you tellin me you like pow, this wide width and slightly directional shape will work goody goody in pow.

this will do fine! :-) that whole Wide Vs. Narrow boot size thing is really just a technicality and never presents a REAL problem, i got size 11 boots and rode a girls board for a day (long story)...according to the charts its WAY too narrow for me, but it worked awesome and my heels or toes never dragged. so this board will do fine...if drag (by some freak happening) is a problem, then you can pick up a pair of risers for bout 50 bucks that will eliminate drag completley (and add power to your turns to boot)

hey hey...this is probably one of the worst boards for all mountian riding. with the reverse camber (edges dont touch snow except for right in the middle) and the pre rouded edges, thats a bad story. first you have no edge contact to start with and then once you get some, your edges are round!!!...yes you can probably make it down the down the mountain, but you wont have much control, your edges wont have any bite and will slip out from under you very easily, turning will be slow and tedious and you will be constantly worried that your board will slip out from under your feet.....i would not reccomend it uless you are just riding from terrain park to terrain park :-)

this board is kinda of stiff, i dunno theres people that would disagree with me but i like a more flexible board for riding in trees...when you see a branch that seemed to pop out of nowhere id rather just flick my heel on a flexible board instead of having to throw my whole body into a stiff board...when split second turns are vital i think softer boards are the way to go :-)

ok, Ill answer your questions exactly as you asked them.
1) difference between Setenal and Pamir - Sentinel is a water and wind proof softshell jacket, Pamir is a wind resistant fleece jacket that isnt water proof.
2) difference in quality - Setinel is more durable so i could be considered "higher quality"
3) lined with windstopper - They are both fully lined with a wind blocking membrain, the pamir jacket is supposed to be windproof, but i wouldnt trust that. The Sentinel uses Gore windstopper, which is windproof gaurenteed
4) fleece and lining - setinel is lined with a supprisingly soft brushed fleece but wont be as comfortable as the Pamir, which is lined with softer fleece
hope that helps

most likey not, water wont penetrate through the jacket, so you wont get wet. but the outside of the jacket will probably soak up tons of water and turn into a sponge, water wont touch your skin, but the jacket will be soaked. be best to go for a rain jacket that wont absorb any water

yeah it was a really dumb review...the guy was probably complaining because the outer fabric got wet, let me explain.........
Gore tex difeinitly is completley and totally water proof, guarenteed, no matter what. but goretex is kinda like a sandwich, with three layers
...layer one, the outer layer, is just some form of water resistant fabric, nylon, poly, ect. in this case some sort of denim. the outer layer of any gore tex material can get wet, and i'd think that to be especially true with denim...that results in a soggy, wet, nasty sopping effect on the outside
...B-U-T the SECOND layer, thats the real deal, thats where the layer of gore tex is, no matter what, water cannot penetrate through the second layer even if the outer layer is soaked....and the third layer is just a lining for comfort
...so really water wont EVER get through to the rider
...aaaaaaand they retail for 450 because burton likes to overprice novelty items like denim pants, and 3L goretex pants usually retail for none less that 300 bucks. if you are into the style, want to stay dry on the inside but dont mind being soggy on the outside, then these are worth it

yes they definitly will...they are high quality bindings from a reputable company. Most importantly, they havent gone to EXTREME measures to minimalize materials and weight, which is in my opinion the reason why bindings break most. Only problem you might have is the cable in the auto toe strap breaking (but it sounds like K2 fixed that). They will stand up to normal riding just fine. Worst Case Senerio, your bindings break: if you buy them from here they have the best return policy ever and you can return them even if all you have is a pile of parts.

Dude! im trying to make that switch too! :-)...anyway steep and cheap is basically random with a few products that regularly show up. these are questions asked to customers and very few backcountry employees even know what is going to be in steep and cheap...the best way to get a product you want on there...go to the SAC forum and BEG for the shift welder, like go on everyday, a few times a day, asking for the shift welder. backcountry reads all those posts and if they belive that someone really wants something and they will make some money, they will put it on there. Ive seen it happen plenty of times, especially with items that have been on there before.

haha hello JD, in my experience "parka" is just a fancy word for a jacket with extended length, so they have better protection and insulation values....and as for the insulation, this is synthetic...sythetic and down are the only two type of insulation. "down" is when the jacket is insulated essientialy with bird feathers, and "sythetic" is when the jacket is insulated with engineered fabrics or materials.
for a great compairison guide of Down VS. Synthetic go here:
http://www.sierratradingpost.com/lp2/down-v-synthetic-guide.
im a fan of synthetic, and this jacket IS a parka and is very warm, probably what you are looking for.

Angus leave the snowboard questions to the boarders, im not answering questions on harnesses and belay devices, thats ur domain...anyway Robert the size is the lenth from tip to tail in CM, depending on what you ride, ur weight and hight detwermine your board lenth...for you, if you ride mostly park, then go for a shorter board like the 152, that will iniitiate butters on a dime and have a low swing weight, it will feel like the board almost isnt there, but it wont be very stable on big runs...if you ride the whole mountian, everything and everything, then go for the 156, it will still be easy and fun to ride but will give you more stability for bigger runs, it will by a TINY but harder to ride than the 152 tho...and finally, if you ride mostly backcountry, powder, and big runs, then go for the 160, that will be super stable, float on powder, and be FAST! but it will be harder to maunver and dont ever go in the park with it haha...hope that helps

for ipods, id like to use a quote to answer that:
"hey mike, iPhones do not support stero bluetooth out of the box, what you need to do is buy an bluetooth transmitter made for iPod/iPhone, i got a nice one (ZOOM iHiFi) off of amazon for dirt cheap, and it works pretty darn good for stereo bluetooth...any transmiter that supports A2DP (technical language for stereo bluetooth, it will say it in the description) will work. If you dont get the transmiter then the audio system will not work
link to zoom hifi:
http://www.amazon.com/Zoom-Bluetooth-Transmitter-iPod-White/
it will work with almost every bluetooth phone, except iphone

close as ive seen are padded hats made by R.E.D....they are essentially beanies with some supprisingly heavy duty padding in them...they offer NOWHERE near the protection of a helmet but are almost better than wearing nothing. youd have to just google "red padded hat" cuz i cant find any on here besides this RED0102 (copy into searchbar, hit enter)...honestly no form of soft protection can ever come close to the protection of a hard shell helmet. and carrying the helmet from your car to the lift might save ur life someday, theres even a convienvent way to carry it...on ur head! :-)

yeah you actually scratched the inside of the lens, when its wet it becomes very very very soft...if the inside is so fogged that you cant see, pat dry it with the bag it came with...NO FRICTION OR RUBBING OR WIPING WHEN LENS IS WET...that clears up the inside and wont damage the lens

crowbars are the best helmet fitting goggle hands down, and probably the best fitting goggle ever made, sooooooo comfortable, its like a face pillow :-)...a frames are the WORST helmet fitting goggle hands down and distribute pressure very un-evely
...and as for lenses, persimon totally sucks, go for the H.I. persimmon, yeah they sound alike but the small "H.I." in the dramatically increases contrast in ALL light condition, sunny to night...that is an AMAZING lense for everything (moderatley sunny, cloudy, storming, fog, flat, night, anything really)...except bright bright bluebird sun...i mean its just one lens, cant do EVERYTHING...but H.I.P. is as close as it gets

best to just take it to a professional jewler/watchmaker/watch seller to do it (even the kiosk at the mall or the watch center at your local department store are valid places). otherwise you might hinder the waterproofness by changing the battery yourself

hey man looks like you are out of luck, i couldnt find a chart on any of armada gloves or armadas website or google...pretty dumb, they kinda leaving you in the dark here...from the review it sounds like they run a little snug, so order your normal size or a size up if you want to put liners under them...what i would do is order one in each size and then pay the 7 dollars for return shipping, sure its a pain but backcountry has the best return pocily ever and its easier here than anywhere else, defiitly...PLUS if you order more than one pair, you will qualify for free shipping ($50+)...so instead of paying for shipping you will pay for return shipping so everything will even out and you will get gloves that fit right!

that is a really good question!...thats happened before and ive wondered but this was the last straw, i went and asked...heres the conversation i had with a backcountry employee on live chat.
"-cyrus: hi a customer asked a really good question about the burton space sack BUR2442
-cyrus: one of the models is more expensive than all the others ones and there seems to be no reason why
-Brett S.: Just a moment while I look into that.
-Brett S.: I am not sure why that would be a different price... sometimes we place items at different price due to what we have available and what sales.
-cyrus: and thats a fixed price? can it be changed to match the rest?
-Brett S.: I cannot change that sorry. Burton selects the pricing and will not lets us discount without permission
-cyrus: Oh ok that makes sense...thank you"
stupid as it may be, thats the answer...GOTTA LOVE BC's CUSTOMER SERVICE :-)

simply put: yes
not so simply: yes this is a good board for a begginer, notice i said good not great...its not a total begginer board, but that will come in handy when your skill progress, normaly people who buy extrememley begginer-specific boards end up "outgrowing" thier boards skill-wise...where as this one will stand up to bigger runs when you start doing them, but is easy enough to ride so you can learn on it withought trouble. buying this is better choice to me than buying a begginer specific-board that you have to replace a season or half a season after you get it

these are too big for most helmets, you need a low profile helmet with a high crown that doesnt go very far down the forehead, like the RED mutiny or smith holt...a good example of a BAD fitting helmet would be the RED hi-fi, cuz that has a very very low crown...low crown means that the helmet will push you gogs down on ur face, like the foam will be resting on ur eyes, yeah not fun :-)

this one will work just fine...they even have ur size :-). now its the end of the season so you might have a hard time finding it in your size but the K2 Moment snowboard is aimed specifically at begginers and that would have to be my reccomendation...but this will work great too, the difference between the two is that this is a little more advanced board, but will last you a lot longer because you wont become better than your board...with the K2 moment board, youll learn on it very easily but in a year or so you will start be become bored with the ride and it wont be giving you enough support to go on bigger runs when you progress that far, so you would probably have to buy another board once you really get the basics down...pick ur poison

?...well theres two adjustmets...one is changing the position of the strap up and down, to do that you simply unscrew the straps where they are connected to the binding and move them to one of the other 3 holes, and screw em back in...the other adjustmet is the position of the ankle strap left to right, just find a screw on the strap, opposite end of the ratchet, unscrew it...slide the ankle strap to the desired position and then screw the screw back in if there is a hole, if there isnt a hole then you went to far left or right...admitedley i found it hard to describe these processes in words but they are very very simple concepts and are almost the same for every binding out there, so it would be a good idea to get these simple maintnence/tuning methods down pat...(adjustment 1) you want your ankle strap angle to cut the angle that your boots make in half, or at least as close as possible for maximum energy transfer...(adjustmet 2) you want your ankle strap to centered on your boot when tightened down all the way, this can take a few tries to get right but it will elminate pressure pointspardon my rambling but i hope that helps

no this isnt very lightweight, DRYRIDE durashell is extremeley heavy and bulky in my point of view, especially 3L, and then theres fleece panels that will just increase weight...that being said the weight/bulk wont hinder your motion or weight you down really, in fact it aids in breathability, waterproofing, durablility and warmth...but if you are trying to shave ounces from your pack load then look elsewhere

hey man it looks like beecee hasnt been on for a few days, and i feel bad that my reccomndation didnt go as planned
...if you can still wait for a few days for a true expert opinion then you could ask another question adressed to beecee, but ill just answer this from a simple mans point of view.
-almost all of arcteryx's shells are made out of gore-tex pro shell, have almost all the same features and are definitly of the highest quality
-3 have powder skirts: the Stinger jacket, Sidewinder AR and sidewinder SV, if that is a neccesary feature then you could go with one of those. I reccomend the SIDEWINDER AR still, because from a pricing perspective it is the best choice (its almost the same as sidewinder SV but $100 cheaper), and i like the way it looks too...however it may be made in china so if thats important to you then look to the SV, which is made in canada. Also the sidewinder AR has a stowable hood where the SV has a fixed hood.
-I had an INCREDIBLY hard time finding any differences bewteen the stinger jacket and the sidewinder AR, besides the huge price difference.
-If you dont need a powder skirt then you can look to one of their technical shells, they are made of the same materials and are the same quality, the one that caught my eye was the Beta LT jacket, completley waterproff, helmet compatible hood...but the kicker is that even though it is made out of Gore-Tex PRO shell, it only weighs 13.3 OZ, which amazes me.
-through all of this i found that most arc jackets are essiential the same with a few bells and whistles added or removed depending on the jacket, and most people seem to make a huge deal out of where they are made...no matter which one you get you are going to get a completley waterproof Gore tex pro shell that will be of the highest quality. the rest is all on your prefrence of price, colors, and small features like powder skirts and fixed hoods, i hope that helps and i hope BeeCee will come on soon and help you (us).

I feel all they shells they offer are way over pricedcheck out mountain hardwear shells cheaper and nicer made--------------------------------------------------hey they may be overpriced but the difference between packlite and PRO shell is huge, pro shell is way more durable, and the most breathable, the only place packlite excells in is weight...so i think it it worth it...ive read lots of accounts of peoples packlite shells ripping easily, and ive heard the same countless numbers of stories of how amaizingly durable PRO shell is, and the breathablility will help in summer, and winter...its just better

I'm not sure what the difference is in your mind between solar radiation and solar protection, but these goggles protect from 100% of all UV rays. In case you're wondering, that's the same as solar radiation.--------------------------------------you probably dont even have to ask...even the goggles you can get at mall kiosks-next to the fake ray ban glasses and the kanye west shutter shades-even they offer 100 percent uv protection...and if you are looking for some super specialized form of protection, for your annual trip to the surface of the sun, then you REALLY wouldnt have to ask because it would definitly say something in the description

how rich are you? :-)...anyway you will probably be roasting all day if you wore that particular combination...for skiing you can probably go with just one of the jackets you said, a baselayer, and a shell and that would keep you plenty warm, almost too warm...gore tex softshell is a warm material, and the hercules jacket is a very heavy weight layering piece/outer layer, just by themselves they can keep you warm but combining the two would be way too hotThanks, Cyrus. What type of shell would you recommend to go with a Hercules for resort skiing. I tend to the cold side. Am considering a Cloudveil Koven Plus as well as some Arc'teryx. If you want a reccomnedation on an Arc'teryx shell then ask another question adressing it to "BeeCee"...he seems to be an expert on all things arc, and lots of people ask him question directly and he promptly answers them...he would probably give you the best reccomdation. i love the look of the Sidewinder AR and am soon going to open a speperate bank account to save up for it, but thats basically just from an astetic standpoint...from a technical standpoint i would have to reccomend and eVent jacket, becasue since you are going to bundled up so much you need your shell to be able to breathe, and eVent breathes better than any other fabric, it is not very durable however, but that wont be a problem since you will just be skiing in the resort...also one more tip, when you have to elaborate on a question you should edit the question and not the answer, when you edit the question it reapears on a new question wall and greatley increases your chance of getting it answered, i came across this again by pure luck, but i would have seen it for sure if it appeared on the new question wall again

Definitely white. Black is overdone. You can't go wrong with a Denali, and that white is Very Chic. ---------------------------------white will probably be better considering the changing of seasons, it wont soak up all the sun if you want to wear it in the the spring/summer...but its harder to keep clean. black is the classic, and will be much better for any outdoor activities, but if you are getting it just for looks then white is fine

not so much, missing a snow skirt and the fabric is not durable enough, not enough pockets and the two pockets it has are not handwarming, theres also no venting, elastic cuffs not velcro, also doesnt seem to have a drawcord on waist...so basically it is missing ALL the features that seperate snow jackets from rain jackets...and interestingly enough, thats excatly what it is; a rain jacket...it wont work great but is waterproof, if you absolutley HAVE to use it for boarding...but do some digging and you can find tons of snowboard jackets (on this site) for under 100 bucks

Well Cole, the bottom line is if you think the two look cool together, run with it and let fashion sense be damned. - James-------------------------------------colors that come from that family like olive and beige and brown and stuff all look good together -Cyrus-------------------------------------Cyrus would know Cole, check out his profile pic. Blue, brown, orange, yellow and white. Now thats awesome. Thanks Cyrus =D -- James-------------------------i cant tell if thats sarcasm or not, o well...james is right, if you like it then go for it and who cares...didnt you learn that in the 2nd grade? :-)...heck my outfit might look redic. but i like it! -Cyrus---------------------------I know my answer comes on a bit strong, but there is no sarcasm. I once wore a set of blue surgical scrubs while climbing Devils Tower. In the outdoors, it's all about having fun. -- James-----------------------------word!!!!...agreed, and thank you. now im lovin this open forum thing but i think we have finnaly asnwered Cole's question...and dont flag this disscusion people, because there's a lesson to be learned here! -Cyrus

freestlye boards are for riders who basically bring the park idea to the whole mountain, if you see anything that can even be kinda considered a jump, u session it all day and find ways to do something sick off of it, even tho ur not in a park doesnt mean you have to be tied to the ground...freeride boards are for the powder hounds who search for big lines and dont spend much time elsewhere, they need a stiff board thats shaped for powder because when ur on the huge lines, you need something more supportive than a freestlye board...freeride boards are hard to ride and will kick your butt up and down the mountain if you dont put your heart and soul into every turn, freestyle boards are much more common and easy to ride and manuvuer, but arent as good in pow or huge lines...and ive answered one of ur questions before, just go EST dude, it has the most stance options of any boards ever, thats what ur lookin for

Basic shipping is 7-14 days, or you can pay a lot more for 2-day.-----------------------------------------hey try and find somethin on this site for a dollar and buy it with this, cuz then you will qualify for free shipping (free shipping over 50 bucks)...and for me, (in seattle) ive never chosen anything but the cheapest or free shipping method, which is the slowest, and with out fail its always here in 2 days from the time its shipped, which is usually the next morning by 7 am

not too great, the venting abilities are sacrifised for looks...air is supposed to rush into holes under the brim, and then be circulated thru the whole helmet, problem is that ur gogs block the airs entryway, so they only air that can possibly get thru is air that comes thru the front of ur gogs and then out the top vents of ur gogs...so basically the venting sucks and this is a VERY warm helmet to start with, so dont get this for your spring sessions

i dont quite get ur question but...this years custom x has been uprgaded with the new ICS system, so it only works with burton bindings, and special burton EST bindings are reccomended (it comes with "retro plates" that let it work with regular 3d burton bindings)if you have last years custom x then you can use any bindings you please because it has burtons traditional 3d set up which is compatible with most bindings, it sounds to me like you are upgrading to this years custom x? if thats the case then you can keep your old bidings if they are burton, but if they arent then you have to get new burton bindingshope that helps

hey dude, looking at darrelski's profile: there is a very very very slim chance that he will ever see this question...and vents always help, softshell doesnt mean that you will never get hot, and there is a tradeoff with softshell fabrics, they are superior in terms of breathability, but they are usually warmer than hardshell materials. if i wore my softshell and gore tex jacket for the same amount of time, i would be way warmer in the softshell

im no expert but the gnu is basically better...the flex will hold up better on bigger runs (when you start doing them in time)...and the construction is more durable, definitly worth it in long run...this board is a little wimpy and isnt very special besides the fact that its good for beginners. -so basically, the gnu will be a little harder to progress on, it wont be as forgiving as the clash, but as you progress you will catch up to the board quickly-where as on this board as soon as you start moving up in difficulty of runs, you will get sick of the lack of control you have, this will just bend and flex under you and not give you any feedback or support when you need it on bigger runseveryone feel free to elaborate on my answer

yeah molding will help a lot, go to a shop and have em do it, just make sure you stand up during the process so the pressure is distributed accuratly and evenly...and if theres a pressure spot on the toes, then ask em if they have a toe box expander that you can wear during the heat molding process, that helps A LOT!...and if the boots are hurting your shins then you might want to lace em up looser as you go up the boot

are you going into battle?...can you be more specific in the future plz...but these will be fine if you fall on a rail or something and are woried about banging your shins...but they dont have enough padding for huge drops, but i doubt you'd be doing that in the these boots, but if your worried about that kind of protection the look elsewhere...other than that, they are snowboard boots, and not low profile ones either so anything covered by the boot is going to be protected, like if ur worried about people steppin on ur feet or gettin ur litte toes crushed...you should still rephrase ur questions tho

this will work great...the awesome thing about that extra 23 cm in the front means you can stuff a high volume object there, like a helmet, down jacket, i can even fit my boots in the front of my 181 bag, but i have a shorter board...a snowboard bag is a big thing already, so you might as well go all out!!!!...cuz a snowboard trip requires lots of crap, and youll need plenty of room for all of it :-)

Yes it will fit a 156cm board. However I would suggest sizing up if you are going to be carrying other gear inside, more boards, or bindings with the boards as well.-----------------------------------------yeah dude definitly size up, your board will be a tight squeeze and thats just not good with luggage...i think i can see why you asked that tho, becuase of the huge gap between sizes after 157, trust me a big bag is worth it, you wont have to stuff as much and its nice to have a snowboard bag that can fit a lot more than just a board in it

a small will probably constrict you pretty good and be uncomfortable, its always better to size up than down...cuz i dunno what ur style is, but a large will let you wear your pants "relaxed"...lets just say that, and then dont forget you need room for extra layers, and you can always just sinch down the waist with a belt while still having room to breath in the rest of the pants

GREAT QUESTION!
...so the eg2 beats the Feenoms in these areas
-the "holy @$#% look at those huge goggles!!!!!!!!!!" factor
-superior feild of vision
...and the feenoms beat the eg2's in these areas
-fits more helmets
-most lens choices are completley mirrored as opposed to kinda mirrored like the eg2's
-fits people with medium size faces
-lenses are more durable
-comes with an extra night skiing lense (2008/2009 models only)
...eg2 cons
-fits only people with large large faces
-lenses are not completley mirrored
-not compatible with many helmets because of huge size
-lenses stratch easily
...Feenom cons
-not as huge and head turning
BOTTOM LINE: i say feenoms all the way because i NEED completely mirrored lenses, and i occasionally wear a helmet, and the egs are way too big to fit SOME (not all helmets), and the feenoms are pretty good with helmets...BUT if you can bear to have people see your eyes and dont wear a helmet and want total badass head turning style, go for the eg2's

this is loose fitting but not loose enough to size down...not tapered at all but very relaxed...if you order true to size then you will get a loose fitting coat, but if you size down then it will be too small...and theres a huge difference between sizes so order true to size if you want it to fit

probably depends on what size it is, marmot most likley wants to make there product look as appealing as possible so they might have listed the weight of the smallest size, backcountry might have taken an average of all sizes, or listed the weight of the largest size ...xs,s,m,l,xl...5 sizes, 5 ounce difference between marmots description and backcountrys, 1 ounce per size...it makes sence to me

as a college student who has a 1000 cu inch pack, i say stay away at all costs...i can barley fit any of my school stuff. its just too small!...plus the lack of pockets and organizers makes it unbearable. you end up with books getting destroyed and papers getting crumbled because everything is being stuffed into one pocket...go for something bigger with seperate pockets for your biders and books, and organizer pockets for pens, flash drives, ipod, laptop sleeve and all that stuff

Soft Shells are counterparts to hard shells and are less bulky than fleece jackets. The Columbia Sliver Bowl has a thin soft brushed polyester lining and the fabric repels water, breathes, and stretches. This would work as a nice base layer and a very good outer layer for aerobic activities. ---------------------------------------softshells are generaly made out of warm fabric that acts as insulation, and this is PERFECT for what you are looking for, i use a softshell under my shell jacket for everything from school to snowboarding and it keeps me warm and dry withought over heating...plus just like ryan said this is a great outer layer too so your getting a versatile jacket thats perfect for your needs.

Black Iridium is a silver lens on the outer and is a brown lens on the inside. It is made for sunny days. I have used this lens on snowy days and it is awful. -------------In general, the lower the visible light transmission, the less people will be able to see your eyes. Add : i have pink iridium and you cant see my eyes unless your in my face so. I love it great for any kind of day or even night skiing!= Black Iridium what the?!? why didnt any of you say FIRE LENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...i HATE HATE HATE see thru lenses, if they are see thru at all i basically wont wear em...and i will vouche for fire being totally reflective

great question, after studing the descriptions inently for a few minutes im having a hard time figuring our why burton makes two bindings so simmilar in price and performance...theser are a little bit lighter due to the materials they are made of, a little more padding to absorb shock on landings, and more comfortable straps on both the ankle and toe...very small differences but for the scant 17 dollar price difference, buying these over the customs would be a good choice

yeah these will work great with any burton board...but stiff board+stiff bindings will basically imprison you to advanced mountian riding and backcountry, with these medium flex bindings you will at least have a bit more versatility and forgivness from your setup

pop is the amout of feedback you get when you flex the board, a board with a lot of pop will snap back at you like an angry girlfriend, good for ollieing and pressing...and a board with no pop will just flex and return back to its normal shape with no resistance...and yes this will suit your needs just fine

The PPX lenses are polarized photochromatic...meaning in addition to being a polarized lens they adjust their tint based on how light it is outside. I don't believe they're spherical. The SPX lenses are spherical and polarized but not photochromatic. Zeal also makes an SPP which is spherical, polarized and photochromatic.Sorry cant help ya with the second question...if it helps I actually just picked up the Detonator SPX off SAC but I haven't used them in snow yet...---------------------------------------"These replaced my oakley a frames and I could not be happier"...looks like nick bee already answered that haha

so oakleys two darkest lenses are black iridium polarized and gold iridium polarized. both with a light transmission of 9%...polarized lenses will block the blinding glare off the white snow so that will probably be good for your sensitive eyes. however people do say they may not provide the contrast the eye needs to distinguish ice patches or moguls...however the gold iridium polarized lense has an increased contrast rating (as opposed to the neutral rating that the black iridium polarized) and the lowest light transmission so that would probably be your best bet.
