Chaco Z/1 Unaweep Sandal - Women's

Chaco Z/1 Unaweep Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 5, 2009

Like all Chaco sandals the Z/1s are durable, well designed for comfort and support, and look neat and trim on your feet because of the flat webbing - which also won't get caught on passing snags as you walk, like the bulkier, leather-on-webbing sandals. The only thing I can gripe about is that the buckle digs in a little when sitting with my feet underneath me (which I'm getting too old to do anymore, anyway!!). I buy size 7 in Chaco sandals, though I normally wear 7.5 or 8. Highly recommended; get several pairs!!

comfort, comfort, comfort!

Chaco Hipthong Sandal - Women's

Chaco Hipthong Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 August 5, 2009

These are possibly the most comfortable footwear of any kind I've ever had on my feet. I usually wear size 7.5 or 8 but bought a 7 and they're just right; the eight was too long and I felt I would have been tripping alot. The hipthongs are great when you want a slip-on, flip-flop type shoe but with more 'stay-on-ability.' I've even worn them on a 'short walk' to a scenic overlook that turned out to be a steep 1.75-mile-round-trip hike and was very, very impressed with the stability and grip - both on the ground and on my foot - I would've slipped out of regular flips multiple times for sure. And, of course, the superb, contoured footbed means that my arches weren't killing me by the time I got back to the car. I now have several pairs and wear them lots! Highly recommended!

Chaco Redrock Mesh Hiking Shoe - Women's

Chaco Redrock Mesh Hiking Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 2 July 27, 2009

I have and totally love several pairs of Chaco sandals and, when I saw the shoes, I thought - Yay, now a shoe that supports like the sandals! And they do, BUT: there's absolutely NO cushioning or shock absorption in the footbed and the soles are like hard plastic - they're noisy when walking on hard surfaces and have no grip - none! I'm glad the other reviewers love 'em, but they are a total waste of my money!

NICE DAY PACK

Marmot Zephyr Backpack - 1600cu in

Marmot Zephyr Backpack - 1600cu in

Rating for this product: 3 May 15, 2009

Nice pack: comfortable, roomy enough for a long day, storage and pockets are just fine, with one glaring exception - the hydration pocket is difficult to access to insert the full bladder into it; the padded electronics pocket falls over the opening even if it's empty. Also, there's only room for one bladder in the pocket - I usually carry two bladders with me here in western Colo and eastern Utah because of the dry climate and also because I share my water with my dog - which means the second bladder hangs loose in the main compartment. I will probably relegate this otherwise very nice pack to winter use only, when water needs aren't so great.

KEEN Presidio Shoe - Women's

KEEN Presidio Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 2, 2009

love the presidios!! i have two pairs (port royal and midnight colors) and they are by far the most comfortable shoe i've worn. I have wide, square toes and chronically sore heels and these are perfect for my feet. the sizing can be little iffy and i've exchanged one pair for a problem with the base of the tongue pressing on the top of my foot, but it was worth the extra time to deal with the issues. hope to get other colors soon!

CamelBak Reservoir Dryer

CamelBak Reservoir Dryer

Rating for this product: 2 March 2, 2009

I agree with oregonguy, not so much about the beer can (maybe a margarita glass!), but about the fact that there are better options than this. instructions don't exist about exactly how to position the inflater piece to keep the inner bladder walls from contacting and holding moisture. the hanger is handy, though i'll probably combine my old method, also used by ripplespirit, of inserting the drinking tube inside the bladder along with this equipment.
