I just took this on a trip to Colorado and set it up (tied the grommet ends to trees and staked down the other ends)to throw wood under and cook/eat under. Guess what, it rained every day/night and all 5 of us + 2 dogs sat under it while cooking and eating. It was great! For those who have cooked in the rain, it's no fun. It also worked great for keeping our wood dry for fires at night. I'll never backpack again without it!

Great Rain Protection

Mountain Hardwear Cohesion Pant - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Cohesion Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 8, 2008

I wore these on a 3 night backpacking trip where it rained every day/night. I stayed completely dry "bushwhacking" through a soaking wet forest in decent rain. The full-length zippers are a must in my opinion...it's nice to take these on/off without having to take your boots off. The noise didn't bother me at all. These pants do exactly what they say and hold up well to the elements.

Great Tent!

Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 3 Tent 3-Person 3-Season

Mountain Hardwear Light Wedge 3 Tent 3-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 August 24, 2008

I spent days reading about different tents before buying the light wedge. I've taken it out on a 3 day trip in CO since buying it and couldn't be happier. It rained on us every night and on the third day it rained pretty much the entire day and night. When we got back from hiking, I was pleased to find our tent completely dry on the inside and all our gear under the vestibule equally dry. The tent is definitely adequate for 3 people (we slept two of us and our two German Shepherds very comfortably). At one point we had our two friends and the two dogs in the tent w/ us when playing some cards and it wasn't really that bad. Also, it packs up pretty small (recommend buying a compression sack for it) and is very light, especially when you split it up (wife carried the poles/footprint). Only thing I wish it had was more stakes. You need 6 more stakes to have one for each guy line on the fly (4) and another one to stake the side of the fly down on either side of the tent. Even w/o the use of the guy lines the fly still held off some torrential rain, so it's only a minor point, but I'm still going to buy 6 more stakes. Other than that, this is a perfect 3-season tent!

Great bag

The North Face Aleutian Bx Sleeping Bag: 20 Degree Synthetic

The North Face Aleutian Bx Sleeping Bag: 20 Degree Synthetic

Definitely a great bag for a great price. I bought a compression sack for it, which really packs this thing down to a small size. It's light enough for my backpacking needs and is very warm and comfortable. You can't beat this bag for the price.
