Finally, a comfy pillow

Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow

Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow

Rating for this product: 5 August 19, 2008

This is the best backpacking pillow I have tried - and I have tried a bunch. This pillow seems to be filled with crumbled-up Therm-a-Rest foam, so it fluffs itself up after you unroll it. I still put a rolled-up jacket under it to get the right height, but the pillow keeps its shape and stays fabulously comfortable all night long, all week long. Worth the money, the weight, and the space.

The North Face Vortex Triclimate 3-in-1 Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 19, 2008

I took this jacket to the Katmai Preserve in Alaska in August and had the opportunity to test it in sun, wind, rain, and cold. It performed beautifully, and I appreciated all the pockets, the hood, and the ability to remove the inner jacket. It packed well too. I'm 6' and I got the large, which fit well. ... and by fit well, I mean there was still enough room to add a fleece jacket underneath (one morning was cold!) without feeling cramped.
