China no good

Arc'teryx Sidewinder AR Jacket - Women's

I got this for my wife, and it just wasn't good quality. It's clear that moving their manufacturing plant to China was a terrible move. We have many older pieces that were made in Canada and the quality is leagues above what is now. I don't mind paying up for gear if it's top notch, but I would recommend staying away from the Chinese Arc'teryx stuff.

Made in China - Bad move

Arc'teryx Sidewinder AR Jacket - Men's

I'm a huge fan of Arc'teryx, so don't get me wrong. But this jacket was terrible. I got it as a gift for my Dad for his bday and got it in Midas Gold. When I got it, it was pretty evident that the quality was not what it used to be. It felt more like a thick rain coat than a technical ski shell. It looked very flimsy in quality, and I didn't even bother to give it to him, I just sent it back immediately. The Arc'teryx stuff was awesome when it used to be made in Canada and the stuff coming out of China just isn't any good. Same price, crappier quality. Steer clear.
