Amazingly warm!

The North Face Thunder Down Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 November 25, 2011

I wear this jacket in temps down to -20 with windchills to -50 and have NEVER been cold with it on (and only a regular cotton longselve tee under) - in fact at temps above -10 I am usually sweating in this thing. This jacket has a low enough profile that it comfortably fits under my fitted shell. I am lady who is 5'8", 130 and got a M - fits great, might have even been able to go with the S if it weren't for the arm length (which i find the TNF always runs a little short for me). Love that it packs into such a small pack (see pics above) for stuffing it away on the trails or in my pack for easy travel from state to state. Noticed some had questions on where to stow so I also attached a pic for this (Outside, Left front pocket). Enjoy!

Great Lightweight Gloves

The North Face Etip Glove

The North Face Etip Glove

Rating for this product: 5 November 25, 2011

They work great with the iPhone - even better than my bare fingers at times. I live up in the Chugach Mts. (AK) and am comfortable wearing them to temps. down to +15F when I'm on the move (running, hiking, shoveling snow). I am a lady with long and lean hands - the M was about a cm too short at the end of the palm at first but after a few wears fit perfectly (this is usually the case with me and THF gloves). Very glad I was gifted these so I can send amazing pictures of the winterscapes to my friends and family without having to take off my gloves. Would highly suggest them to anyone who walks around on chilly days and uses their phone.

Best all-around jacket

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Women's

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 March 23, 2011

Best all-around jacket. I use it for hiking/backpacking, snowsports (skiing, snowshoe excursions), running & biking. Works Amazingly in the wind - I absolutely love the taped seams (especially when on the bike). The velcro around the wrists works wonderfully - I never have to be concerned with my gloves sneeking out. I love the higher neck that really helps out in the cold winds. I have worn this jacket in the Palouse of Washington and Idaho (WIND) and currently up in Alaska (WIND, COLD, and WET). Great length in the arms (a little longer than most jackets) and covers the waistline.
