Two strikes, but happy

The North Face Crusade Multisport Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 August 16, 2008

Had the same problem with a broken eyelet but laced around it with no problem. Returning them for a new pair!
Just finished a 22 miler in Yosemite with a 50lb pack. Coupled with AirCast A60 Ankle support (http://www.aircast.com/index.asp/fuseaction/products.detail/cat/1/id/82) I had plenty of ankle support and good traction. Doubled as a light weight camp shoe as well. 10 oz less weight per foot than my mid high Asolo hiking boots including the ankle supports. Shoes stuck well to granite and provided good rigidity. One caution area is inside the instep above the sole. Sharp rocks can bruise the foot.
They worked as expected within the limitations of the protection the shoes provides. I am looking forward to my next trip!
