Mountain Hardwear Desna Fleece Jacket - Men's
6 hours ago
I'm a lil lost reading the sizing reviews. I have a weird build b/c I wieghtlift to maintain b/w a meat-head triangle and an athletic, lean build. I'm 5'10.5" - 156 lbs (due to knee surgery, normally 168) - 42" chest - 30" sleeve (horrible ape index) - 28" waist. I want to buy this mainly as a multi-pitch belay jacket that doubles as a casual jacket. How exactly "athletically-fit" is this jacket? I'm having a hard time fitting myself in the sizing chart and completely lost trying to figure out a semi-casual fit size.

Mammut Trion Guide 45 + 7 Backpack - 2746cu in
May 3, 2012
Does the butterfly frame make enough of a difference to push pack decision one way or another if the pack carries the weight well anway? My previous packs only used a simple plastic framesheet so I used to not think too much about suspension until I tried the BD system and was blown away. I'm torn between the mammut trion guide 45 or the rei pinnacle 50 which I can get for about half the cost.

Osprey Packs Variant 52 Backpack - 3000-3400cu in
April 24, 2012
I'm in love with osprey packs. I use my talon 33 for everything, from vacationing, climbing daypack, to a 4 day dacks pack. What it doesn't work well for is lugging hiking&climbing gear, extended vacations, or holding skis.
Does anyone have any direct experience using the variant 52 vs the mammut trion guide 45+7? I'm so torn between the two.

Stoic eVent Stash Shell - Men's
December 21, 2009
Anyone know how durable this jacket is? I'm an east coast ski racer and take A LOT of high speed slides over rough ice. Will this survive? I'd hate to ruin such a beautiful shell...

Stoic eVent Stash Shell - Men's
December 21, 2009
This might be a dumb question, but I'm new to the world of technical layering. I just bought this shell and will be using this primarily for skiing in temps between -30*F to 40*F among other things. What do you wear under an uninsulated shell to be comfortable in temps that cold? Usually I just throw on an underarmour, hoodie, and my current phenix ski jacket but I heard you can be a lot more comfortable (aka not sweating and overheating) layering properly. I'm a big fan of no bulk.
