I'm liking these a lot. The frames are smaller than I anticipated, so look to Electric or Von Zipper if you want something larger. Very comfortable modern take on a classic design.

My girlfriend loved these because they look just like typical Peruvian boots that we saw in Cuzco... the downer is that she's a 7 1/2. I ordered her a 7 (too small) and an 8 (too big). These run true to size, so if you are normally a half size, order up. You may get lucky.

Very handy

Stoic Welded Sport Duffel

Stoic Welded Sport Duffel

Rating for this product: 5 December 17, 2010

Great bag. My girlfriend got me one for my birthday, and I really dig it. I mostly use it for hauling bike clothes to and from the trail head, and it does a good job keeping the stench of my sweaty gear at bay post ride when I leave my stuff in the car overnight. It's a really handy size, and it's perfect for travel. It's not going to be 100% water proof (you need a roll-top bag for that), but it's impervious to pretty much everything short of being submerged. The design is pretty utilitarian: no organization pockets to speak of inside and nice big pocket on the outside w/ a good sealed zipper. The should strap is minimal but sturdy.

Osprey Packs Atmos 35 Backpack - 1900-2300cu in

Osprey Packs Atmos 35 Backpack - 1900-2300cu in

Rating for this product: 4 February 26, 2010

Ok, I love this bag and use it A LOT. The frame does make packing a bit of a chore sometimes, but that's not bothersome enough to outweigh the benefit of the Airspeed back's ventilation and comfort. It is a great pack for cycling in that it does not get overly hot while riding. HOWEVER if you wear a helmet while you ride (shame on you if you don't), the top of the pack will bump into the back of your helmet (at least mine does), limiting your range of motion. Not good when you are cruising along and need to be looking down the road/trail. That's why I only gave this pack 4 stars. It's much better for hiking and general travel.

GoLite Quest Pack - 4400cu in

July 17, 2009

Fred, it depends on what you intend to pack and how much you wanna bring back. I did 5 weeks in Europe with 2 of my buddies. Two of us had very large packs, but one of my friends brought a very similar GoLite pack. At the end of the trip, everyone's pack was full, except I decided to bring back a load of crap that I didn't need. If you keep it simple and stick to the basics (i.e. the good things in life such as a few simple gifts and some vino or olive oil and a limited amount of clothing) this pack would be totally fine for an extended trip. It is on the small side though, and if you aren't accustomed to traveling light, I'd definitely look for a larger bag.

GoLite Quest Pack - 4400cu in

Is the medium large enough for a guy that is 6'2"? I am generally sorta right in between but usually favor a L pack... my spine measurement is 21.5".

CRKT M16-14 Titanium Knife

CRKT M16-14 Titanium Knife

Rating for this product: 5 February 11, 2009

Seriously. This knife is basically the biggest thing you can legally carry. It makes my SOG Twitch XL look like a freakin' toothpick. If you want an inconspicuous blade, find something else. If you're looking for a big dog, this is your ticket.

Otherwise, it is great. Very solid construction, but made in Taiwan... Balance point is just behind the hilt. Opens FAST with a satisfyingly audible metallic snap and closes very easily with one hand. Does NOT lock shut, but this is my 3rd M16 and I've never had one open in my pocket. Good hard steel holds an edge nicely. Can be fully disassembled for cleaning (or to disable autolawks if you wish) in a matter of minutes w/ torx wrenches. It's titanium, so it is quite light for its size, but don't fool yourself into thinking this sucker is "light." You've still got a ~ 4" hardened steel blade that is over 1/8th of an inch thick. CRKT says it weighs 5.7 oz, and it feels pretty solid.
