  • Bio:

I'm getting back out there after a few years hiatus. I just picked up a snowboard this summer and am looking forward to that adventure, and hopefully not a pile of hospital bills, haha.

I've been camping and backpacking for the better part of my life, grew up through Boy Scouts, all the way through high school, then wasnt as able to get out for a few years of college, but its picking up now.

We got our first snow of the year (winter 2008-2009) the week before Halloween, and that really got me itching. Luckily, I live in the snowbelt, so we should get some early season white stuff, albeit slushy.

I'm a skinny little boy from Cleveland, Ohio, come to chase your women and drink your beer.

Good price for the quality. No real lining, but its just a shell. I'm 6'1'', about 200 lbs, the body fits great, its a little short, sits right at my hips, but thats what its designed for. Sleeves are a little long, however, even for me with long arms. Looking forward to using it in decent weather snowboarding this season. Its on casual duty until then.

Burton Moto Snowboard Boot - Men's

Burton Moto Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 13, 2008

I havent used them yet, but everything is well made. Tough materials, tough stitching, strong lacing system. My first impression of the speed zone system was that i would rip it off trying the boots on, but it was amazingly solid. Im a novice boarder, so the speed will certainly help, as will ability to adjust on the mountain. Seems pretty true to show sizes, i wear a 12 shoe and the size 12 boot fits perfectly with a pair of merino wool socks.

Good Fit, Seem Warm

DAKINE Mustang Glove

DAKINE Mustang Glove

Rating for this product: 4 November 12, 2008

I tried these out for the first time last weekend, it was in the 30's spectating at a football game. Kept my hands really warm for being so thin and lightweight. Snug fit on the wrist is nice, and the length is perfect to keep out of wind. Only complaint is that i was starting to get a little damp inside after about 4 hours, but again, it wasn't that cold, and my hands usually don't get too cold.

I got these gloves about a month ago, and they are excellent. Great construction, intuitive features and they seem like they will be very warm. Now all I need is some snow...

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

MSR WhisperLite International Multi-Fuel Stove

Rating for this product: 5 October 22, 2008

I have had this stove for 7 years, and it is awesome. The only thing to keep in mind is, though you can run anything liquid and flammable through it, you have to clean the fuel line, not so easy in the field if you dont have the tool they give you (which is great). The pump is quality, but i dropped mine and cracked the handle and had to replace it, but again, my fault. Top quality gear. Highest recommendations.

Just got these goggles, they fit nicely with my Giro G9 helmet, no stupid gap like with A-Frames. Nice Ventilation, good soft feel from the foam.
