So what drives me? Gets me up in the morning? THe chance to use amazing gear and amazing prices :P Having lived most my life in Utah, the outdoors has always been a major part of my life. My most recent excursion into the backcountry (Mount Raymond) kicked my trash, too bad Backcountry doesn't sell knee braces :D

The photo just doesn't have the fairing, it should come with the fairing. Box says fairings included.

Big Agnes Emerald Mountain SL3

Big Agnes Emerald Mountain SL3 Super Light Tent: 3-Person 3-Season

Big Agnes Emerald Mountain SL3 Super Light Tent: 3-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 August 28, 2008

When I first climbed into a Big Agnes Emerald Mountain SL3 I was amazed at how big and spacious it was. Most backpacking tents are small on size to keep down weight but Big Agnes has managed to keep the weight down (for a 3 person tent) and create space big enough for 3 people, plus with the use of both vestibules you can keep all your gear out of the open. I've yet to try and cook under the larger vestibule but with care I think it can be done on those rainy days.

Big Agnes Emerald Mountain SL2 Super Light Tent

Big Agnes Emerald Mountain SL2 Super Light Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

Big Agnes Emerald Mountain SL2 Super Light Tent: 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 August 28, 2008

Agnes what can I say about her, she's BIG. Who wants a little petite thing, I like em BIG. I think the Big Agnes Emerald Mountain SL2 Super Light Tent is pretty bad a**. Even when compared to the SL3 model (3-person version) the tent is still very spacious, plus it's even lighter. It's very well ventilated. I love its mesh top, leave the fly off and keep those bugs out while enjoying the night sky above. I'm new to Big Agnes gear but I see these guys competing more and more with the "Big wigs" like The North Face, Sierra Designs and Mountain Hardwear.

Big Agnes Hahns Peak, -20 Degree Down Bag???

Big Agnes Hahns Peak SL Sleeping Bag: -20 Degree Down

Big Agnes Hahns Peak SL Sleeping Bag: -20 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 August 28, 2008

Hahns is insane, insanely warm! This is the bag you want for those cold expeditions. The Big Agnes Hahns Peak SL Sleeping Bag is rated down to -20 degrees, and still insanely light. Just be sure to pair Hahns up with the Big Agnes Insulated pad, preferably the Big Agnes Dual Core Sleeping Pad and say auf wiedersehen to to Jack's frosty nightmares.

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Sleeping Pad - Mummy

August 27, 2008

I don't have a question but rather an answer as I wasn't sure what the R value 4.1 was exactly, it's 15 degrees Fahrenheit so your body heat won't be sapped away like traditional pads. I'm surprised no ones asked that, so now I guess no one has to. :)

Whats a water bottle?

CamelBak Omega HydroTanium Hydration Reservoir

CamelBak Omega HydroTanium Hydration Reservoir

Rating for this product: 5 August 5, 2008

I remember hiking when I was younger lugging those water bottles around, now I only faintly remember what those things look like. I love water reservoirs, this fits nicely into both my Osprey pack and my camelbak pack. The plastic taste does go away after a number of uses, would recommend to anyone looking for a quality reservoir system.

There's water in there!

CamelBak Havoc Hydration Pack - 3L

CamelBak Havoc Hydration Pack - 3L

Rating for this product: 5 August 4, 2008

ThHe site no longer carries my pack but this is essentially the same pack, it's the same fit as mine but I like the style of mine a little better. These things have plenty of room for all your gear for a nice day hike. I was looking for a good hydration pack with a good hipbelt, who wants to carry that 3 liters of water with your shoulders alone! yeah 3 liters isn't that heavy but a good hipbelt on a hot day makes all the difference.

Very Pleased

Merrell Chameleon Iso GTX XCR Hiking Shoe - Men's

Merrell Chameleon Iso GTX XCR Hiking Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 1, 2008

Like a previous reviewer said fits like a glove, surprisingly though I had to go down a 1/2 size. I wore these yesterday on a quick hike up a unmarked trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon and was very pleased. They seem to breathe well, although it was a evening hike and not much direct sunshine on the trail. Would recommend to anyone looking for a lightweight, waterproof breathable shoe for hiking.
