I ordered this jacket before Christmas for use as an every day rain/snow shell that wasn't bulky like a parka. I used it for about a week in a freak PNW winter storm when I noticed that the DWR finish was simply not working. By not working I mean that during a rain storm the entire jacket developed large splotches of wetness on the shoulders and on the front. Since I had never washed it I knew that this was not a case of needing to re-apply a new coat of DWR, but perhaps a case of never having applied correctly from the factory so I sent the jacket back to BC.com for a replacement. They replaced the jacket no questions asked. In-fact they sent a new one to me before I had the chance to send the other one back. That's good service as far as I'm concerned. So far the replacement is dong fine-sheds water like I expect it to. Thanks BC for the great service.

La Sportiva Exum Ridge Shoe - Men's

July 10, 2008

I have absoulutely flat feet. I size just about all my approach shoes with my toes at the end of the toebox so that there's no sloshing around in them. Because I have flat feet I have to be concerned with getting too high of a volume shoe. I use superfeet beds, but some shoes are just too spacious. My question is are these high, low, or medium volume?

La Sportiva Cirque Pro Approach Shoe - Men's

La Sportiva Cirque Pro Approach Shoe - Men's

These shoes fit great out of the box. The tension lacing system, like that of the mythos works well up to a point. In the case of the mythos the laces really never see the elements like mud and wet so a complete comparison is likely to end there. After the shoes have been around a while the lace system gets a bit resistant to good toe tensioning suffering from dirty dry laces, solved only by washing. Not a huge complaint but washing is a drag. As those who own mythos can attest relacing is an undertaking involving medication. Lastly, the soles don't last terribly long considering that they aren't really even kind of as sticky as rock shoes. I recommend them highly as mountain bike shoes. Tim
