Osprey Packs Stratos 24 Backpack - 1300-1700cu in

Osprey Packs Stratos 24 Backpack - 1300-1700cu in

Rating for this product: 5 May 17, 2010

marmot sleeping bag, few pieces of clothing, food for 2 people for 2 nights, stove, 3L bladder (in the mesh backpanel), camelback bottle, gatorade bottle (i drink a lot of water), coleman exponent stove, headlamp, snakebite kit,and camera all inside. attached keen newport h2's to the loops on the outside and strapped the tent to the outside. granted, i have the large but was able to have enough room for a weekend trip and saved more than 4 lbs over my full-sized pack (yes, i need an upgrade). my friend carried a little food for himself, the fuel, and pots as well as his own sleeping and other gear. i could have made room for a pot and fuel for a solo trip or just left those out all togther. love this pack and plan to use it commuting too.

Icebreaker SuperFine150 T

Icebreaker SuperFine 150 Tech Lite Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 17, 2010

Love this shirt. Great for backpacking. I was worried it was too thin to hold up to a pack for multiple days but it held strong. Great for running too. Dries quickly. Got mine on SAC and will buy more if they come up again!

Coleman Egg Carrier - 6 Count

May 17, 2010

I've used this for eggs up to the second morning out (about 48 hours)with no problems. We ate all the eggs in two mornings so I can't say how much longer but I'd probably eat them on a third morning too. I'm not an expert on salmonella but I would suspect that cooking the eggs takes care of any bacteria.

Marmot Atom

Marmot Atom Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down

Marmot Atom Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 May 17, 2010

This bag is great. I had a regular (read short), fat, and heavy 30 degree synthetic that weighs 3+ lbs before I bought this. Now my long version Marmot bag weighs in at 1lb 10oz and packs down super small. It's true to the 40 degree rating and great for spring summer and fall. I've even thrown in a lightweight fleece liner and slept comfortably below freezing at Blue Lakes near Ridgway, CO. Would definitely recommend! (I found this for cheaper at another site but wanted to buy from backcountry because they're awesome...and they matched the price)

KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 17, 2010

Great for light hikes, water, and even the street. They are hard to beat. The footbed controls stink for a couple weeks, but after that, look forward to smelly feet from these puppies. Still love them after a year.

Marmot Windstopper Glove

Marmot Windstopper Glove

Marmot Windstopper Glove

Rating for this product: 4 May 17, 2010

I like these gloves better than the reviewer below because I wasn't expecting these to be used much below 25 degrees. They're great gloves for biking and running and any other general cold weather activity. The WindStopper fabric is great but when it's 10 degrees, you'll want more than these.

ExOfficio Give-N-Go Boxer Brief - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2009

i agree with everyone else as to the comfort, wearability, and shear awesomeness of these boxer briefs. they keep you dry and don't ride up like the patagonia ones (which i still like, just not as much). looking to buy more soon.
i'm not sure about the recommendations to size down...i typically wear a large, bought a large, and they fit great. with backcountry.com's return service, you can gamble on the size if you want.

Small, Lightweight, Gotta love it

Marmot Atom Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down

Marmot Atom Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down

Rating for this product: 5 April 26, 2009

I love its size and weight. I bought the long and it actually measured 1lb 10z, 2 oz more than Marmot's website states. That's still pretty darn light and compacts down to the size of two Nalgene bottles without a compression sack. I'm 6'1" 185# and the long is the first bag I've had that actually fits well plus I have room to wiggle. A bit pricey, but for the weight and quality of this bag, you can hardly beat it.

bought this last summer and have used it backpacking and to show off to friends. lightweight, fuel's easy to find, packs small, heats great - water gets to boiling in a snap. for the money, better than pocketrocket or anything else.
