I recently used this on the Florida Trail doing field maintenance. I had a Platypus Big Zip SL reservoir, rainpants and top, lunch and snacks plus two bottles of liquid in the side containers and I was very comfortable using this pack.

Metaphor Jacket works real good

Outdoor Research Metaphor Jacket - Men's

Outdoor Research Metaphor Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 21, 2008

Recently, I had the opportunity to use this jacket in Plymouth,Massachusetts. This jacket was recommended by backcountry.com's online chat. The jacket kept me very warm when I walked along the shore and was great at night. I had to take the jacket off when ever I went inside. The temperature ranged from 35 to 50 degrees. The wind made it even cooler and even some rain did not effect the ability of this jacket to keep me warm.

Better than a camelbak

Platypus Big Zip SL Hydration Bladder

Platypus Big Zip SL Hydration Bladder

Rating for this product: 5 December 21, 2008

The last time I used a camelbak it leaked all over and it was hard to get water thru the mouthpiece. The Platypus Big Zip SL worked great the first time I used it and I would buy it again.

These pants really help in keeping my legs warm. There comfortable and take a lot of wear and tear. I use them for backpacking and hiking and I also use them in trail work.

This is the first time I used a Platypus water reservoir and it worked great. No leaks and the mouthpiece actually worked the first time. I really had to struggle with my last camelbak mouthpiece.
