Excellent
Lafuma Pro 950 Sleeping Bag: 15 Degree Down
November 11, 2008
This is an excellent sleeping bag. It is extremely light, stuffs and compresses very small, and is very comfortable and warm. I tried it out on a night dipping into the 20s and was plenty warm. The material is soft and the down fluffs up like crazy making the bag very nice to slide into. They only had the long and I was concerned it might be a little big but it almost feels like a regular since the down fluffs up so much and I'm not complaining about having just a little extra room. I also really like the 3/4 (almost full length) zipper. It has a down-filled draft tube and stiff flaps on the inside to guide it and protect it from snags. We got a right zip and left zip and they zip together nicely. I can't say enough about this sleeping bag...pure warm lightweight fluffy downy goodness!!

Nice bag
Lafuma Warm'n Light 600 Sleeping Bag: 40 Degree Down
November 11, 2008
This bag is incredibly light and packs down very, very small. I needed thermals and a hat and socks to get comfortable at just under 40 degrees but I have no doubt it will keep me plenty warm at the usual 50-60 degree summertime lows. The price is excellent and the tiny size and super light weight makes this an excellent choice for warm weather.

Great lightweight jacket
The North Face Zot Windstopper Jacket - Men's
October 10, 2008
I was surprised to find that most of the back panel (everything below shoulder level) is Apex Aerobic (the gray stuff). Having said that, the design is actually better for my uses. The Apex stuff is still quite wind resistant but it wicks and breathes a lot better so if you break a little sweat (especially with a pack on) it will let the moisture out a lot easier. The wind stopping abilities don't take that much of a hit either. I took it out on my motorcycle on a chilly morning and at 45mph with the jacket zipped up and the cuffs and hem cinched it cut right through the wind with no problems. Pair this up with a light fleece and I've got my layering combo for cool weather hiking!

Sweet gloves!
injinji Performance Glove - Women's
September 30, 2008
I got these for my wife and she loves them. They are very light and thin but still cut through the wind and the cold for early morning runs. If you get too warm you can easily stash them since they compact down to almost nothing. The reflectors and grippy palms are a nice touch. Very well designed and very well made.

Great jacket
Sugoi Versa Jacket - Women's
September 30, 2008
I got this for my wife and she loves it! The jacket is very light and the material is soft, flexible, and comfortable...perfect for running. It cuts right through the wind and takes the edge off the cold. The removable sleeves are well designed. The two-way zippers on the sleeves makes it so you can partially unzip them like pit-zips for extra ventilation if it's not warm enough to completely remove them. Overall a great jacket!

Lorpen Merino Light Hiker Shorty Sock
August 28, 2008
Totally digging these socks. They are soft with all of the benefits of wool. Nice and padded on the bottom with good ventilation on the top. The lycra across the top helps the sock fit snugly and really hold its shape well. Love 'em!

Answer to: "Would this jacket be good for cycling?"
The North Face Apex Elixir Jacket - Men's
August 14, 2008
I don't know if the fit would be ideal for cycling but the material would perform well. Apex Aerobic is very breathable, wind resistant, and quite stretchy.

Answer to: "How does this jacket compare to the Denali??"
The North Face Apex Bionic Jacket - Women's
July 15, 2008
The Denali is thick heavyweight fleece so it's super-warm but not windproof. This is a completely windproof softshell jacket with a fleece lining. It's not as warm but protects better against wind and rain.
Answer to: "I tried on the Cipher Windstopper jacket and it felt perfect,..."
The North Face Zot Windstopper Jacket - Men's
June 15, 2008
Yes...for the most part. The Zot is essentially a hood-less version of the Cipher but they are still just a little different. The Zot has Windstopper in the front, on top of the arms, and along the upper back areas and Apex Aerobic fabric under the arms and throughout all of the mid and lower back. The Cipher is similar but includes sections of Windstopper in the mid and lower back.

No. The Elixir is made of Apex Aerobic which is more breathable but not windproof. The Bionic is made of Apex ClimateBlock which is less breathable but completely windproof.
