Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero SL Hooded Down Jacket - Men's

Wow is all I can say. A lot of thought went into this jacket and not only is it stylish but it also has all the technical features I'd want in a jacket. Durable material, Extra durable material at the shoulders, fantastic fit with our without layers, phenomenal hood, velcro adjustable cuffs, very light and very packable. Don't hesitate, this one is a winner.

Good Quality, Great Fit, Zipper Concern...

Millet Expert Down Jacket - Men's

This is a parka rather than a jacket (the length in the waist is indicative of that). Well made, great orange/red color and very light. My only initial complaint would be the parka's main zipper. I'm particular about zippers because when it's cold and snowy and I'm on a mountain I want it to be easy to zip. I have a bit of a tough time with it just zipping it up in the living room so I'm not sure how it will do in the field. The US size L fits very well. It is not overly bulky in the midsection but will adequately support layers. There's extra room in the shoulders. My guess is that this was by design to provide added mobility of the arms and to handle layering. The hood seems good. I haven't used this in the field so I cannot comment on it's use in cold weather yet.

Arc'teryx Rho LTW Zip-Neck Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

I'm 5'9 and 195 and I need the extra large. 44 inch chest 34 inch waist. The Large fits very tight on me. I understand it's supposed to fit close to the body but the Large hugs me too much.

As for layering with this piece? Would it work over the Hyllus Jacket/Hoody mid-layer along with a normal base-layer? In other words was the sizing done for this type of normal layering? I'm a large in everything, should I get a large in this and expect the fit to be ok with all those layers?
