Almost completely happy.

Black Diamond Big Wall Hooped Bivy Bag

Nice and light. Much more fun to carry then a tent. The pole that keeps the hood up is actually a thick wire that can be bent into all sorts of positions depending on the protection needed. Entry was not all that easy. I'm 6'1" @ 185lbs and with a NeoAir pad inside it was a task that will require some gettin used to. Keep in mind though the Neo is a large and does take up a good bit of space. Once inside space is not a problem. Just don't expect to have the full freedom of motion like one would have in a tent. Felt very comfortable and the bivy doesn't weigh down on you. No moisture at all. Not a drop. This would be 5 stars if entry was a lil better. I think my tents are goin to be seeing alot more closet time.

ROOMY

MSR Asgard Tent 2-Person 4-Season

Roomy Roomy Roomy. One stands next to this thing and wonders what all the hub-bub is about. You crawl thru the tight vestibule from either side into the tent wonder where was this spacious lil cavern was when looking from the outside. Supporting two 6"+ guys was no problem and a couple high liter packs. Left the vestibule zips open 12inches and the mesh doors exposed half way. Also had a 8 hour emergency candle lantern hanging from the center of the tent and woke up to no condensation. Temps hit low 20f that night in the mountains of the Northest which are known for being a lil "moist" at nights. Not a bad tent to carry when split up between two. Atleast I think it would be but I wouldn't know since I got stuck somehow carrying the whole thing plus a full set of snow stakes.

Don't listen to the so-called "pro's"

Big Agnes Fly Creek UL1 Ultra Light Tent: 1-Person 3-Season

Because the one thing they all seem to miss is the fact that this is a "lightweight" or even the "lightest" solo tent. There is something called "compromise" and space is what one must compromise when a lighter weight is desired.

I am 6'1" and 190lbs. This tent is the bomb. Super light and just enough to sleep and store my boots and my Bora80 pack in the vestabule. It's just a shelter for when I sleep. Weather? I call my UL1 the "sharkfin". It cuts right thru the winds. Has no problem surviving the storms the Northeast has thrown at it.

I LOVE THIS TENT!

good for late spring to early fall

The North Face Mercurial Liner Bag

Used this bag/liner on it's own so far and have been very happy. I have used all three ways of comfort and have slept well. Lowest night temps in this bag was about 50°f without a liner and was comfortable and preferred method of sleeping is draws only. Any lower may be a issue. The width of the bag is nice but let it be known that this bag does not have a hood(comes just over the shoulders). I'm 6'1" and I use the long. I do carry a StS liner just for that extra kick if needed.
