Patagonia R1 Fleece Pant - Women's
January 9, 2007
I had a pair and they were so great I bought some for my wife. These are the warmest midwieght pants you'll ever wear. I used to wear Duofold long underwear and fleece sweats under my ski pants. Now all I have to wear is these toasty little babies. Make sure it's cold out if you plan to do any strenuous activity because these pants are hot hot hot!

This shirt is the bomb!
Patagonia R1 Flash Pullover - Women's
January 9, 2007
I got this shirt for Christmas last year and I loved it so much that my wife just had to have one of her own. I got one for her and now it's her favorite layer. This is more than your average half-zip pullover. This shirt is extremely warm and can be worn in place of a bulky wool sweater. It will out-perform everything else in it's same category. I used to swear by The North Face Cirque shirts, but the R1 blows them away.

Not as good as Patagonia R4
Arc'teryx Maverick SV Jacket - Women's
January 9, 2007
I bought this for my wife instead of a Patagonia R4 because she loves Arc'teryx. Unfortunately, it is made with Polartec WindPro which is only 4 times the protection of normal fleece. While the R4 uses Polartec WindBloc which is completely windproof. The jacket is a little too short and fits tighter than most other Arc'teryx jackets. The chin guard is almost non-existent which leads to chaffing. Also, Cinder is not as grey as you would expect - it actually looks green. All in all, Arc'teryx is great, but the Maverick SV is not.
