Colorado High Mountains -
Bio:
Originally from the Canadian Prairies now spend my time playing in the mountains of Colorado. Became an expert in cold weather conditions from years of northern Canadian winters and am seriously being spoiled by the warm winters here in CO.
Have a soft spot for flat-land activities like nordic skiing, but now devote most time to trail running, mountain biking, and backpacking in the summer. Skiing occupies most of my winter fun time.

The North Face Venture Jacket - Women's
September 8, 2011
I find North Face outerwear to run a little large. A medium would leave plenty of space to fit a fleece underneath and to make sure that it is long enough. But a small would probably be big enough but maybe not long enough?

These pants look perfect for dealing with snow. If you are planning on backpacking through some snowfields they would kill it otherwise I would step down a notch.

DC Pelly Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's
December 14, 2009
Definitely. Just looking at the materials it is almost completely wool. If you are worried about the spandex deteriorating skip the dryer. I've never had a problem washing any of my merino gear, although my disclaimer is I don't have this exact shirt.

CW-X Performx Tight - Women's
December 14, 2009
I would go for x-small. The tights will be most effective when they are not too big (Just as long as they don't restrict your movement). I'm 5'9" 155 pounds and have a pair in large.

I have the non-zip version of this shirt. I have washed it in pretty much every water temp and thrown it in the dryer, I haven't noticed any shrinkage, thankfully.
I think that you might be out of luck.

The North Face Pumori Fleece Jacket - Women's
October 27, 2009
I find North Face jackets fit larger. I am 5'8" and 155 pounds, I wear a medium in their jackets, you would probably find a medium to be bulky in the midsection. I would suggest you get a small in The North Face outerwear, unless you are planning for some serious layers to fit underneath.

The North Face Vindicator Mid GTX Boot - Women's
August 4, 2009
Yes and no. It claims that is uses Gore-Tex but from looking at the shoe, it looks like only the sole and lower part of the boot would be waterproof. Definitely not waterproof with the mesh panels along the side.

Icebreaker SuperFine140 Voyage Tank - Women's
May 8, 2009
Icebreaker definitely has different fits depending on the style. I wear a large in the more technical gear but I have this in a medium and it fits great. I'm a 36DD and don't have any constrictive problems with the medium (which the sizing chart gives 37 inches). If you are stuck between the two sizes I would order down.

Icebreaker Nature Sweetheart Top - Long-Sleeve - Women's
February 26, 2009
I don't have this actual shirt but I swear by Icebreaker in general. This is pretty lightweight for a baselayer (i.e. for colder temp you will want to look for a heavier weight, think more like 260 weight). I find that the merino wool does a better job of regulating my temperature and wicking moisture than silk (plus it doesn't get nearly as smelly), and at this weight it feels like cotton, super thin and stylish to boot. But that's just my opinion. . .

Burton Bliss Reversible Down Jacket - Women's
February 26, 2009
I would go with a medium, but it all depends on the amount of layering you plan of doing. The medium still leaves plenty of room for some midweight layers but if you are looking for enough space for a big wool sweater than go up a size. Burton generally designs its jackets on the baggier side.

The North Face Windwall 1 Fleece Jacket - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Parka - Women's
February 12, 2009
This jacket should do the job. Although it will definitely require some serious layering if the weather turns nasty (ie. Gusts that will blow you right off the glacier). The only alternatives here would be any of the "Canada Goose" brand parkas which are filled with goose down. The "Expedition" is my favourite, I swore by it when I was living in northern Canada. Hope that helps!

Atlas 12 Series Snowshoe
December 14, 2008
The 30" size should do if he plans on sticking to trails (meaning that there is some snow pack present), but if he is going to be using them in the backcountry or with a heavy pack you might want to upgrade to the 35" length.
