Rome Watts Jacket - Men's

Rome Watts Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 17, 2011

I just got this jacket in the mail. Its VERY heavy and the liner is much smaller than on the size chart. I have 38 inch chest, ordered a medium which apparently runs 36-38. It fits perfectly, but the liner fits more like a 36inch or smaller (completely unwearable). Had to exchange it for a large jacket and I hope the liner from that jacket will fit.

Update: Now that Ive had this jacket for a month, here is the low down. The media pocket in the left forearm is only meant for a small media player, not a full sized IPOD or IPhone. I do however like the season pass holder in the bottom left front of the jacket. If flips down for a quick scan, then velcros back up for the run. Also the pass stickers are an added humorous bonus ;)

Length of the jacket is good, its well waterproof, the zipper is metal and seems durable so far but it does snag on the split zipper cover.

Stoic Welder Gauntlet Glove

Stoic Welder Gauntlet Glove

Rating for this product: 1 November 21, 2010

I bought this off SAC for 52% off and I feel ripped off. Firstly, the glove seems of good quality of both material and design. I am a size 9 hand and the Lrg glove fits perfectly.

Now for the bad. I wore these glove once so far in a windstorm and was sadley disappointed with them. The gauntlets without insulation let the wind cut right through to the hands chilling them quickly. I was only -3 (without wind chill) and I felt like my hands were naked in the wind.

Its too much to ship these bad boys back, so they will remain in my trunk as backup gloves as something is better than nothing in an emergency.... I hope.

DC Spectrum Softshell Jacket - Men's

March 19, 2010

I have this jacket from a previous year. Its a good softshell, lots of room to move. The powder skirt works well.

Id say it is more for the warmer days though ;)

Burton X8 Snowboard - 08/09

February 11, 2010

Id say No. The newer version of this board is a rocker, but this years model of board is a camber. If you can already butter on a camber, then its fine. But Id listen to yule&bellow and stick with a rocker if your goal is to butter peak to base

Burton X8 Snowboard - 08/09

Burton X8 Snowboard - 08/09

Rating for this product: 5 February 11, 2010

I am an intermediate - advanced rider. I bought it on Brociety and have loved it since.

My primary board of choice is the vapor, but its lack of durability has led me to try this board out.

Lots of pop, stable at moderate speeds, can navigate chunk, pow and groomers with relative ease. Pulled off CRAZY wheelies in powder. All the groomers are great for ollies and nollies. All over the hill and can stomp any rollers I see fit. Buttering, not so much. The new models of this board are a rocker base and much better suited for that (as the mean green is a camber).

Love the EST system as you can switch the bindings quickly to powder or back to park. Got a 157, am 180 lbs and I could have gone a little shorter but the price was right.

In short, paired the board up with some basic Burton custom bindings, DC Allegiance boots (similar to the new judge) and it works just great.

Spy Zed Goggles w/Free Extra Lens

Spy Zed Goggles w/Free Extra Lens

Rating for this product: 4 February 11, 2010

I got this gogle with mirror pink lens and in the faux denim look. First off, not the best looking gogle, but it on par with my spy blizzards that it replaced for function, comfort and fit.No issues fogging for the first 5 rides (so far) the rose mirror lens is AMAZING. Good in bright light, excellent in low light and even in a white out I had to lead the way out while my friends had yellow oakley wisdoms on and were fully blind. Helmet compatable with my Giro g9 helmet (no google gap :) )The only issue i had was with slight fogging up. This may be due to the fact I was done up for a -20 celcius day and it turned out to be around -5 but one good bomb at full speed, the gogle vents did their job and cleared up quickly.I would say these are worth every penny on Brociety or SAC and I would purchase again.... just not the "vibrant" colors ;)

Solid Glove

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Rating for this product: 5 January 5, 2010

I used these gloves at -18 celcius (Sorry you americans have to do the math but its 4 degrees Fahrenheit) at Whistler BC last month. Not only were my hands comfortable, but my buddy with glove warmers and his northface dilithium gloves and liners complained all day about cold fingers. I was by no means sweating, but I was warm.

I have also used these gloves on warmer days (-2 celcius, like 28 Fahrenheit) and they breathed well enough and my hands did not get over sweaty or wet.

I am a snowboarder so I spend alot of time with my hands in the snow, so I would recommend this glove for anyone.

For the guy that complained and said he needed thin liners to make the gloves warm, I have no idea why you would even need liners with this glove unless you are concered ease of regular cleaning.
