Mountain Hardwear Refueler Short - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Refueler Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 27, 2011

These shorts were so great, I bought them again. I reviewed them last year and gave it 5 stars, and over the course of a year of wear, I still give it the same rating. I can never seem to have enough of these great shorts!

No suitcase? No problem!

Osprey Packs Airporter Lockable Zipper Bag - 8299cu in

Osprey Packs Airporter Lockable Zipper Bag - 8299cu in

Rating for this product: 5 January 9, 2011

If you need a durable, lightweight bag to stuff your pack into, look no further than the Osprey Airporter. I used it going to Africa, Europe, and back, and it worked miracles for me. This is so much easier than duct taping my pack on flights. It packs into itself and is small. I was able to stuff my 3400 pack as well as a friend's 3100 into the same Airporter and only have one checked bag between the two of us (plus, it was under 50lbs so we saved $75). I would completely recommend this to anyone, like me, who uses your pack as a suitcase.

Best Athletic Shorts I've Owned

Mountain Hardwear Refueler Short - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Refueler Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 20, 2010

I've been looking for a pair of lightweight athletic shorts since my old pair of Nikes was worn out. After much searching, I fell in love with these. I am 6'4" and the shorts are a perfect length on me - a couple inches above my knee. They are lightweight, pack small, and haven't (yet) retained odor over several days use. The one thing I'm not crazy about is the inner lining, which I guess is popular, but I may just cut that out. The "black" I ordered is more of a dark grey. All in all, a great pair of lightweight backpacking shorts!!!

Will Never Use Another Insole

Superfeet Trim-To-Fit Green Insole

Superfeet Trim-To-Fit Green Insole

Rating for this product: 5 December 31, 2009

I first heard and used the Superfeet insoles after the first 30 miles on the Appalachian Trail. I don't recommend breaking them in while thru-hiking the AT, though! After making the entire 2100-mile hike, my Superfeet help up incredibly. I've since been home and have bought the insoles for my shoes at home. I will never use another insole again. The support is incredible and the simple technology did wonders for my feet. After helping me walk from Georgia to Maine, I swear by these!!!

Amazing.

Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandal - Men's

Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 2, 2009

I've had two pairs of Chacos. One broke a month ago after constant wear for 6 years. The other is still going strong after 5 years. They are amazing - water, hiking, around town. There is no other pair of sandal I will wear. Hands down, Chacos are my favorite shoe I've ever had in my entire 27 years of life.

These shoes rock

Montrail Hardrock Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Montrail Hardrock Trail Running Shoe - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 August 6, 2008

I thru-hiked the AT with a pair of Montrail Hardrocks. Unfortunatley, those wore out after the 2,174 mile hike and when I was buying new shoes for my summit of Kilimanjaro, Hardrocks were the only shoes I would buy. They are very light and comfortable. The mesh sides means your feet will get wet as soon as it rains, but will dry out much faster than any gore-tex shoe. More expensive than most light trail shoes, the quality is definetely worth the price. After summit Kilimanjaro in Hardrocks and sock liners and not a single blister, I am sold for life on these shoes.
