Easy to use but not responding fast

Ortovox Patroller Avalanche Beacon

Ortovox Patroller Avalanche Beacon

Rating for this product: 3 November 10, 2009

The Ortovox Partoller Beacon is really easy to handle and very simple. Compared to the Mammut Pulse Beacon however, it is a lot slower in responding to changes of direction.

Black Diamond Ascension Nylon Custom STS Skins

October 14, 2009

Depends on the steepness of the mountains you want to climb. Normaly regular straight skins not wider than your ski at mid-sole (88mm for you) will work just fine.

The lenght shold approximately match your ski-size. They should not be longer because that will make it impossible to strap them on. And with 174cm skis you will have enough traction.

Great climbing skins especially with the Volkl Chopsticks. I bought last years pair of skins in 130mm for 173-180cm skis. They fit the Chopsticks perfectly. Then simply get some Marker Duke bindings and you're well set.

DAKINE Chute Backpack - 2200cu in

DAKINE Chute Backpack - 2200cu in

Rating for this product: 5 October 14, 2009

Finally a well sized backpack for skiing and/or carry stuff for the whole weekend. For me it's the best backpack I had so far. Its larger than the Heli Pro and still not too big.
