  • Stomping Grounds:

On a road or trail somewhere in the Southeastern US, riding a bike and enjoying the scenery...
  • Bio:

I love to ride my bikes, mixed in with a little camping. Bike touring combines both, and is a nice break. Frequent bike commutes to and from work make the day much more enjoyable.

I've been commuting by bike, and decided to add some wool base layers to my cycling wardrobe. I've not been cold since I started wearing wool on the colder mornings. In fact, my cycling jacket has taken a rest, and I've gone back to a vest. The wool simply keeps me warm, and since it breathes so much better, I don't get wet from sweating and I can ride with fewer layers. And the zipper on this style allows me to better control the temperature during harder workouts. I have both the lightweight and the midweight versions, and both are great, but I like the midweight a little better on the colder mornings (35 degF and below).

BTW, the fit is not loose and not tight. I might consider ordering a smaller size next time, as I like a snug fit.

I added this to my cycling wardrobe, along with some long sleeve smartwool zip tees. I like the nice, tailored fit of this one. I add this on the colder mornings when I want two wool base layers.
