How thick and big is the watch? Is it a regular size watch, more suitable for a man's wrist ... as large as the Polar RS300? Thanks.

Patagonia Tres Down Parka - Women's

Not really. I found that the collar is quite stiff and with the down layer, it looks bulky but looks alright if zipped up.

Patagonia Down Sweater Jacket - Women's
August 24, 2010
Go with XS - I am around your height and weight. XS fits with a light layer and S is roomier, allowing more layers, but then today's "layers" are not bulky. Also, the downsweater provide enough warmth and most of the time I wear it with only a light layer, like a 150 or 220 Icebreaker sweater when out snowshoeing.

It is noted as "slim" fit - does this mean "athletic-fit" ... little room-allowance in waist and hip for those who had children?

Thanks, Andrea! I agree with you regarding MSR performance but I do like the lack of drag of the Atlas E12 so still undecided ...

Atlas E12 Series Elektra Snowshoe - Women's
December 26, 2009
Atlas E12 versus MSR Lightning Ascent - I used Atlas 1023+ but thinking of getting a MSR ... will be using for climbing in all snow conditions: icy, powder, slushy. Have concerns about coming down (and going up) steep hills - which is better, Atlas E12 or MSR Lightning Ascent?

The North Face Thunder Down Jacket - Women's

I own both the TNF and Patagonia but much prefer my Patagonia - have not lost any down, mine seem to have more soft down than down with "quills". Whereas, TNF, there seem to be more down with "quills" so constantly poking through and loosing down. Both are equally warm, light and packable.

I would approximate the XL by adding 3" to the chest and hip ; and 7" to the waist measurements according to the size chart (using the higher number in the range given in the size chart).

I don't have the measurements for medium or large but I have the small (measuring laying flat) - shoulder 16", sleeves 25" (measuring from the shoulder seam to sleeve hem), waist 17", back length (neck to hem) 23" - front is slightly shorter. Also, the chest - measuring from the back, laying flat, under the arm 19". I hope the information helps.
