I wore my brand new Marmot Precip Jacket in a light rain and the water went right through.
People relying on this jacket to keep them dry and thus warm in a cold mountain rain could die, because of blatantly FALSE ADVERTISING by unreliable, Marmot and retailers. I would like to know who is responsible?

In warmth, this jacket is equal to a fleece-jacket.
This jacket packs smaller than a fleece-jacket. That is the advantage over fleece.

If you are looking for a really warm jacket to warm you up when chilled; get a down-jacket instead. I gave 3-stars instead of 5-stars only because warmer, down-insulation would be better. I would be concerned about warmth in temperatures below 35-degrees even layering a shell-jacket on top. Unlike down, you can hike in this synthetic-insulated, jacket without perspiring.

I am 6'-2" tall, 210-pounds. The extra-large fits me well. The jacket is long enough. Sleeves are long enough, with elastic at the ends. The jacket is slim-fitting, but not tight. Not bulky. A very tailored fit. I could wear a large, but a large felt confining. The jacket does not lift up when you raise your arms. A very soft, pliable, comfortable jacket.

Two, good-sized, zip-pockets to put your hands in, or hat. Small, chest-pocket. Jacket zips easily. Resists stains (I spilled ketchup on it and it wiped off without a trace).

I was glad to find a normal-color offered, Navy-Blue, which was not shiny.

This is a very nice Summer, Spring, & Fall jacket.

I washed this MSR dromedary bag with dishwashing-liquid, and rinsed it very, thoroughly, repeatedly. I filled it with water. The bag left a bad, after-taste that stung the back of my throat, and lingered. The bag's innner-coating is leaching into the water. I felt the inside of the bag with my finger; it is a rough surface, meaning the inner-coating is so thin that it conforms to the rough outer fabric; suggesting it is a spray-on coating. It looks like a spray-on inner coating. Someone write the FDA.

Instead I bougt an insulated, Camelbak-brand "Unbottle"- 70-oz., and removed the bladder and inserted a Platypus-brand 2-liter, roll-up, bottle with screw-on top. So I could use it as an insulated canteen. I had to buy an inexpensive, insulated water-bottle holder ($10) to cut out a 3-inch-circle to sew over the space left by removing the Camelbak’s bladder. Required a little sewing. Works great. Kept my water cold in California-summer. Velcro opening.
