Wicked Jacket

Rab Neutrino Endurance Down Jacket - Men's

Rab Neutrino Endurance Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 19, 2011

I've been shopping for some time now for the perfect down jacket and this is it. The Pertex endurance fabric is light yet feels durable enough for some serious expeditions. There have been other jackets out there that are excellent like the marmot Ama Dablam but that doesn't have the Pertex endurance fabric that is nearly 100% waterproof. The fit is great but a tad bit large at the chest, then again I'm a small guy, but the small would have been to small to layer with. Its definately warm for the weight, and the price is okay for the quality your getting.

Dissapointed with fit

Mountain Hardwear Chillwave Down Parka - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Chillwave Down Parka - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 December 19, 2011

The chillwave parka is awesome, super warm, constructed with excellent materials but unfortunately i have to return it. I'm a pretty small guy 155lbs 5'6" and i took a medium, sadly the the way the arms are constructed causes them to ride up pretty bad when you lift your arms up. To me this is a major issue especially if its freezing cold outside unless you plan on having your arms facing south your entire trip. I'm sticking with the Rab Neutrino Endurance jacket which is lighter and its arms move very much like the angel wing movement on Marmots line of jackets.

Marmot Limelight 3-Person Tent w/ Footprint and Gear Loft

September 2, 2010

That small plastic piece that holds the poles together at the top seems to keep the poles from pressing in all the way together, just that spot where they enter that piece of plastic. anyone know if that's supposed to be this way? I also have ground hog stakes anyone know if these will work at all with this tent?

Handy little device

Hydro Photon SteriPEN Classic Handheld Water Purifier

Hydro Photon SteriPEN Classic Handheld Water Purifier

Rating for this product: 5 July 7, 2008

I used this pen up in the Swiss alps on glacial water and didn't have to worry about getting sick the water tasted great....didn't have to worry about chlorine taste in order to kill off bacteria and viruses. I'm pretty sure its probably a bit larger than the newer models but the price was a plus, and I didn't have to spend loads of money to get great results. I'm going to be sure to bring this on every trip of mine...

Great buy

Brunton Raptor Stove

Brunton Raptor Stove

Rating for this product: 5 July 1, 2008

I just purchased this stove and put it to use on a trekking trip in switzerland. This stove rocks, it sparked right up immediately at an altitude of 2000 meters with no problems, it didnt have any problems with the wind either. Its light, well built and very fuel efficient also comes with its own case to put it in when your done. Excellent little stove, cooked quite a few times with it and still have plenty of fuel left over from an 8 ounce can. a must buy.

A+++++++

GSI Outdoors Ultralight Dualist Cook System

GSI Outdoors Ultralight Dualist Cook System

Rating for this product: 5 July 1, 2008

Excellent cookware, i have no complaints whatsoever. This set is all you'll ever need for two people. Lightweight, but a heavyweight contender. I couldn't imagine camping without it. The pot itself heat up great and cools down quickly so you don't have to worry about burns after your done cooking, ultra tough. The two bowls and two cups were just right plus the fact that the little stuff sack can be filled with water to wash your hands in afterwards is a plus.

outstanding trekking poles

Black Diamond Spire Elliptic Trekking Pole

Black Diamond Spire Elliptic Trekking Pole

Rating for this product: 5 May 7, 2008

These are the very first poles that i have owned and they definately made an excellent first impression. The price was reasonable and they are very sturdy not to mention the fact that they are very lightweight. I was on an 9 hour long hike in germany on various terrain ranging from rocks to dirt, uphill, downhill and they felt comfortable in the hands as well as a sense of security as far as balance goes. These poles were absolutely lightweight yet so sturdy you hardly notice they're there. two thumbs up great buy.
