I love merino! I wore these camping in the mid 40s, and they kept me nice and toasty. I am looking forward to wearing these on my upcoming NZ snowboarding trip. I am sure they will outperform my synthetic long johns.

Epic Jacket

Rating for this product: 5 May 26, 2009

This jacket rocks. I recently used it on a backpacking trip thru Haleakala crater, and it kept me warm down into the 40s with just a t shirt on underneath it, and the wind was blowing 15 to 30 mil/hr. Its lightweight, and performs awesome. It blocked the wind and shed water great. I am 5 8 and 150 lbs and the medium fits great, with a little room to layer. Overall great jacket. If your on the fence just buy it!

Icebreaker SuperFine 200 Hopper T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Icebreaker SuperFine 200 Hopper T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 18, 2009

I bought this shirt mainly for hiking and working out. The merino doesnt dry as fast as some of the other tech shirts I have, but unlike the other shirts, you could wear the merino for a week straight and it wouldnt stink. The stitching and the material are quality. I am 5 8 150 lbs and I ordered the large. It fits great. I dont think I would pay full price for this shirt but if you can get it on sale, its worth it.

Pit Pincher

Backcountry.com Cocona Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Backcountry.com Cocona Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 May 14, 2009

I am 5'8 and 150 lbs. After reading the other reviews, I opted to get a large. The shirt fits well, but it does pinch my arm pits, and it tends to bunch up in the neck. The material works great and does what it is supposed to. I bought a merino shirt to hike and workout in, and this shirt dries faster and transfers moisture better than the merino shirt. The only bummer is the arm pit and neck issue. If it wasnt for that I would have given it 5 stars.

Solid water bottle

Sigg Steelworks Water Bottle - 33.81oz

Sigg Steelworks Water Bottle - 33.81oz

Rating for this product: 4 May 12, 2009

I just got my Sigg Steelworks bottle and it is sick. I ordered the black for myself and the green for the lady. I definitely like the black better. The black is more of a matte color, and the green is shiny. I ordered the Sigg bottle because the threading for the cap looks like it was designed better than the kleen kanteen bottles. I am very pleased with the product, and the threading on the cap and bottle ensures zero leakage. I am giving it 4 stars because after I ordered it, I found out it is made in China instead of Switzerland.

SmartWool Midweight Crew - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 29, 2009

I bought this as a base layer, and it worked great. I spent 10 days boarding in the Wasatch and this shirt held up awesome. It kept me warm and dry, and I didnt even need to wash it. Although, I did wash it and the stitching started to come undone a little, that's why I gave it a 4 out of 5. I am 5'8 and 155 lbs and I ordered the medium. Sizing is true.

Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Beanie

Backcountry.com Prime Power Stretch Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2009

I was a little skeptical at first, but when your logo is as bad a$$ as a mountain goat, the product should match it. This beanie surpassed my expectations in warmth and was extremely breathable. It kept my noggin nice and warm, and when I started to sweat wasnt too hot. Great product. I would by more backcountry.com gear.
