Smith Skullcandy Single-Shot Helmet Audio Kit

The double-click skips on my boyfriend's iPhone, but only pauses on my Blackberry. It might work differently with different devices?

Wish I discovered Arc'teryx sooner

Arc'teryx Moray Pant - Women's

Arc'teryx Moray Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2012

I was skeptical to spend so much money, but glad I did!

Love:
-color (dark purple)
-fit (waist is below belly button, they feel like regular pants but cover well enough for storm conditions)
-built in adjustable waist belt
-versatility (I thought these would be cold day ski pants, but they are lightweight and have been surprisingly comfortable in 10 degree conditions and 50 conditions as well)

Overall, sooo comfortable. I had no idea technical ski pants could fit like everyday pants.

This one surprised me

Arc'teryx Atom LT Hoody - Women's

Arc'teryx Atom LT Hoody - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2012

I was on the hunt for a synthetic puffy with pit zips for backcountry skiing. There are not many options. So I decided to try this jacket with the underarm panels.

It's surprisingly warm, super lightweight, and breathable when I start hiking. I love the cuffs, as they fit nicely under gloves leaving no cold air gap! Most similar jackets have the elastic cuffs, these are way better.

I have also found that this is my jacket of choice for everyday activities - running errands, going to work, walking the dog, hiking. It's my favorite everyday jacket hands down. I've also had several compliments on the fit and color (bondi blue) from total strangers (which is not the norm). I'm 5'10" and generally wear a large in most brands. This large fits perfectly, I love the slim fit.

Almost perfect

Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Women's

Arc'teryx Stingray Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 January 31, 2012

Love:
-fit (flattering but can also fit some layers)
-length is great (longer for blizzard conditions and powder)
-color (peacock is really pretty without being obnoxious)
-perfect for backcountry skiing in variable weather conditions
-overall quality

Don't love:
-I wish the hood was removable
-I wish the collar was taller. When it is all the way zipped up, it jabs underneath my chin. I have decided to leave it unzipped a little and just wear a buff/bandana on cold days to cover my chin.

First Norrona Purchase

Norrøna Trollveggan Warm 2 Stretch Tight - Women's

Norrøna Trollveggan Warm 2 Stretch Tight - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2012

I'm 5'10" and generally wear a size large. These fit really well, plenty long (any longer and they'd be too long), good tightness but not too tight. I like the lower waist below the belly button. They also have knee pit venting (lighter material and also different color) which I guess is nice to have. They are thinner than I thought they would be, but perfect for winter walking/hiking/snowshoeing. They will also make a good layer under ski pants for really cold days. Overall, happy with the purchase!

SmartWool NTS Microweight Crew - Women's

SmartWool NTS Microweight Crew - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 January 31, 2012

I bought this shirt in black and found that I wanted to wear it every single day...to work, around the house, skiing, hiking. So I bought a pink one and a green one too! I love the torso length (to hip bones, but not too long, doesn't ride up) and the arm length (just past the wrists). I'm 5'10" and usually wear a large in most brands, and this large fits perfectly. For as much as I love Patagonia and have been loyal to their capilene layers, I have to say that they have remain folded in the drawer since I got these.

Sole Sport Flip Sandal - Women's

Sole Sport Flip Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 20, 2011

The most durable and comfortable flip flop I've ever worn. Had the black for a few years and wanted a new color. Chose the white. Bad idea. Still a great shoe but now they are grayish brownish white! Only flip I will ever buy again. I have high arches and the support is great.

Style changed?

Patagonia Barely Bra A/B - Women's

Patagonia Barely Bra A/B - Women's

Rating for this product: 3 October 20, 2011

Picked one of these up at the Patagonia outlet and LOVED it so bought another here. But the fit was entirely different. Too much extra material high up on the chest/ strap. Returned it. Seems like they changed the style a bit.

I've been searching and searching for a bra that is comfy, supportive, no wire, and keeps two separate boobs. Go to bra for hiking, skiing, lounging or working! Highly recommend. Ordering two more.

perfect balance

Garmont Radium Thermo AT Boot - Men's 2009

Garmont Radium Thermo AT Boot - Men's 2009

Rating for this product: 4 June 18, 2011

I've been using these boots for 2 backcountry seasons and they're awesome. Super comfy for hiking dirt, rocks and snow, skinning and crampons. Also stiff enough for steep and variable skiing conditions. Just hiked Mt Shasta for the first time, longest highest climb yet and not a single hot spot.

My only trouble with them is getting the bottom 2nd buckle just right for the ski down. If it's not in perfect balance, when I flex forward the 2nd buckle comes undone. Seems like a design flaw but they may have fixed it since.

Overall, I'd buy them again.

The only shoe I buy

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra GTX Trail Running Shoe - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 June 17, 2011

I buy this shoe every year. It's my go-to shoe for pretty much every activity from running around town to hiking to 14,000 feet. There's no break in time and it holds up to daily, all condition use. I tried the non-gortex shoe for the summer but found that way too much dirt gets inside. I prefer the gortex version year round.

The ONLY problem that I have experienced is the 2010 version sizing (this one). I am a size 10 in every kind of shoe except these. I have been a 9.5 in these shoes for 5 years, but the 2010 pair are way too big. I'm returning them and going for the 9. A full size down from every other brand.

Aside from the recent sizing issue, I highly recommend these shoes!!
