  • Stomping Grounds:

Just moved from So Cal to SF bay area
  • Bio:

I just enjoy staying active, from playing sports and working out in the gym to getting outside and hiking/snowboarding. I try to mix things up. I would really like to start climbing more and see how that goes. I hope to get some time to visit all the Nor Cal spots and work up a good sweat

The North Face Flex Crew - Short-Sleeve - Men's

May 19, 2009

depends how baggy, but i wrote the below review. i am 6'4 230 w a 47 chest and this shirt fits perfect. not tight, not super baggy, good length. go for it.
the back pocket is roughly, 3.5" wide and 4.5" tall, with good stretch. i say it would probably fit, but too much weight would cause it to sag/stretch a lot.

Patagonia Capilene 2 T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 March 27, 2009

a little thicker than the cap 1 (duh) and i thought a lot less comfortable. i bought a bunch of these tech tees and this was not my favorite. fit pretty well as an xl, usually i take an xxl - 6'4 230 w a 47 chest. i didn't sweat in it at all, so i can't attest to it's wicking/drying ability. it wasn't comfortable enough for me to even wear it to the gym, i sent it back

The North Face Velocitee Crew Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

The North Face Velocitee Crew Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 27, 2009

i got this in xxl - 6'4 230 w a 47 chest. it fit perfect, but the material was too slick and had a shimmery look to it. it was very comfortable, but i couldn't take how it looked, so i sent it back. it wicked well while i had it and dried quickly. TNF has a better shirt, the ruckus. get that one instead.

not bad, but...

Icebreaker Atlas Bodyfit 150 Top - Men's

Icebreaker Atlas Bodyfit 150 Top - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 27, 2009

i wanted to love this shirt so much. i wanted all the good things wool brings. and it wasn't bad. but in the end i couldn't justify a $34 undershirt. it fits tight, i got an xxl - 6'4 230 w a 47 chest and it was a little short in the body and definitely fitted everywhere else. it was a little itchier than i had expected, but nothing horrible. maybe if i layered more, it would be perfect, but i just don't have a need for it. not something i'd wear to the gym or to play ball in, and i don't ski or climb enough to make it worth the cost.

Ex Officio Give-N-Go Boxer - Men's

Ex Officio Give-N-Go Boxer - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 27, 2009

the fit and feel is right on. i got an xl and it is good, i am 6'4 230. i do wish the band was a little softer, but even after one wash it felt better. and the band was way better than the one on the icebreaker bodyfit boxer brief, which almost cuts into my waist. only thing is it does tend to get caught in your crack a bit, i dunno if it is the material or the baggy fit of the boxer...i am use to boxer briefs. but it didn't do it enough to cause me to cast these aside. all in all this is a solid lightweight boxer.

Sugoi Bamboo Zip Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Sugoi Bamboo Zip Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 March 27, 2009

i have the non-zip version of this shirt. i got an xxl, i am 6'4 230 47 chest, and it fit very bag but still short on my. the sleeve length was right, but that was about it on the fit. as for the material, it is soft, but i dunno how much bamboo is in it. after a run it stinks like no other shirt i have. and it's wicking is only moderate, i would say. the zip pocket on the back/side is nice with the headphone port, but there just isn't much to love about this shirt. maybe if it fit better...

Rating for this product: 2 March 27, 2009

i liked this shirt, the material wasn't too silky/shiny and it had good reviews. but this fit was just off. i got an xxl, i am 6'4 230 47 chest. most shirts are too short and baggy when i get this sizing, but this one was tight in the chest and had way too baggy sleeves and body. it just didn't seem to fit me at all

SmartWool Adrenaline Light Micro Sock

SmartWool Adrenaline Light Micro Sock

Rating for this product: 4 March 27, 2009

i liked this sock, it is a little heavier than it's ultralite cousin, but has a lot more padding around sensitive areas. i use it to play bball in, as well as hike and run. haven't noticed my foot overheating or anything. so if you want something a little more padded than the ultralite, get this sock, you'll love it

not a bad boxer, but nothing special about it either. i think it is a little overpriced and preferred the other ones i got instead. look at ibex or icebreaker for some nice merino boxers that i think fit and feel better

Icebreaker BodyFit150 Boxer w/Fly Brief - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 27, 2009

...is always a bit tighter than i'd like. i should have probably gone w the xxl, but xl boxers/boxer briefs have always fit right, if not a little baggy. and honestly, these would be perfect if it wasn't for the waist band. other reviews are right, it is cheap and uncomfortable. it feels like it is digging into my waist. but the merino is so soft...i just may keep them

the fit was tight, i am assuming it is meant to be. BC sent me the wrong size - xl instead of xxl, i am 6'4 230 - and i just sent it back. it wasn't comfortable enough for the price. i wasn't impressed, but it wasn't a bad shirt.

CW-X LiteFit T-Shirt - Short Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 March 26, 2009

i bought the sleeveless version of this. it was a little short for me in an xxl - 6'4 230 - but otherwise not bad. it was SUPER light, almost too light to give any sort of compression, and thus basically just a really tight shirt. comfortable, but after about an hour of sweaty basketball, it started to chafe my nipples.

Columbia Omni-Dry Mountain Tech T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 March 26, 2009

haven't worn it doing anything too sweaty, but it is more comfortable than a lot of the other tech tees. seems sturdy enough to hold up to a pack and/or climbing/hiking. the fit is right on, perfect length...i often have a problem with them being too short.
may increase the rating once i see how well it wicks and dries

not a bad jacket

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Men's

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 23, 2009

i purchased this specifically for it's fit, weight/size, and ability to block wind. it is very windy where i live and i also ride my motorcycle in to work in the early AM.
i got this jacket in XXL, which fits my 6'4 230lb frame very well. no issue w sleeve or body length. it is very light weight, which is the first thing i noticed. however, it doesn't block ALL the wind. it will block a light breeze, but when it picks up it will cut through the jacket. maybe iwas expecting too much. it is still a very good jacket for the weight of the thing. just don't expect it to take on a good wind.
also, the color on SAC where i bought it looked more blue than the actual jacket which is more of a grey w a slight blue hue.
