Why? Just buy an XP or Guide.

Black Diamond ATC-Sport Belay Device

Black Diamond ATC-Sport Belay Device

Rating for this product: 3 September 8, 2008

Does what it's supposed to, but spend the extra bucks on an XP or guide and don't give up your ability to use double ropes. More than once I wish I'd just bought the XP (Like when a friend needed a device to rap with and I was going down first). It works, and it works fairly well but I wouldn't buy another or recommend it to anyone.

Great all around rope

Beal Edlinger II 10.2mm Rope DO NOT USE

Beal Edlinger II 10.2mm Rope DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 5 September 2, 2008

I use this rope for everything. Setting up top ropes for my less experienced buddies, leading my normal style routes, and working routes beyond my range. It's taken plenty of falls, been on way too many bad edges, and it's still going strong. It catches great, clips easy, and belays well with a Grigri or an ATC. I'm going to be keeping it around for use as mainly a top rope only rope in the next six months, mainly because of the use it's seen. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Killer fit, awesome shoes

La Sportiva Miura Climbing Shoe - Men's Discontinued Rubber

La Sportiva Miura Climbing Shoe - Men's Discontinued Rubber

These shoes are amazing. Got them half a size smaller than the Evolvs I was wearing and they stretched out a smidge. They fit my foot like a glove after wearing them for a couple months. Very comfortable and powerful. They lose their arch after wearing them for a while, but really, they kick ass.

Great shoe, lacking on durability

Evolv Defy Climbing Shoe- 2009

Evolv Defy Climbing Shoe- 2009

Rating for this product: 4 March 31, 2008

Love the shoe. It smears great and edges well. The only complaint that I have on them is that the sole and toe box are tearing apart from each other. Gonna get em resoled and keep climbing in them. I wear a 13 in Vans and boots, I got an 11 in these. They were tight as hell to start with, but stretched just a little and they fit like a glove. When I take them off they've formed a nice suction on my toe. Overall, I'm happy with them, just a little disappointed with the durability. Maybe it was bad footwork on a beginners fault, but none the less I'd recommend them.
