  • Bio:

I hate running on roads but love the trails, preferably mountains and trails. I climb (boulder) on a lot of weekends because I keep getting sick from surfing in polluted water, or I'd be bodyboarding more often. Favorite places to live: Sydney, Australia. Atacama Desert, Chile. New England, USA. Currently in southern California.

Good Fit, Not So Durable

Patagonia Super Cali Short - Women's

Patagonia Super Cali Short - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 October 1, 2009

I like these shorts for their length and fit...I'm usually a 4-6 in pants and the 6 is perfect in these. The fit alone has me wearing them all summer. Great for pre/post surf and just hanging around. Not so good for climbing. They do not stretch and catch on my knees when trying to high-step, and the material can't handle abrasion as well as I think it should. There are mini holes in the butt, not cool, and that doesn't usually happen with other pants I own. For everything else they're great.

Awesome top!

Patagonia Morning Glory Halter Top - Women's

Patagonia Morning Glory Halter Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 October 1, 2009

The material and fit of this top is awesome. It just fits and moves well for climbing. Note its pretty long...actually past my hips, but I like the unique look. For me though, its so long it gets in the way of my climbing harness a little. The fit/material are so awesome I wear it anyway and just deal with it (not hard to do). The part that goes around your neck is the most comfortable halter top design and fabric I've seen anywhere. Possibly my all time favorite top, even if its a little too long.

La Sportiva Katana Rock Climbing Shoe - Women's

April 7, 2009

A lot of my friends are size 38 street shoe and wear anything between a 34.5 and a 37 in the Katanas depending on personal preference. I think its worth trying on to tailor the fit.

Perfect for riding waves!

Patagonia Solid Boucau Halter Top - Women's

Patagonia Solid Boucau Halter Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 February 11, 2009

Two ties makes it adjustable. Its great because almost ALL bikini tops fall off when I surf any kind of sizeable waves and this one doesn't! For that kind of surf, this is the only bikini top I will wear. I have more than one of them and they are by far my preference for surfing. Don't fade like other tops over time.

Cute and comfortable

Patagonia Active Boy Short - Women's

Patagonia Active Boy Short - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 February 11, 2009

Not the best boy shorts ever made but they are comfortable and cute. Not as breathable as other choices, maybe just because of the boy short cut. Would definitely not wear for running, not breathable enough, but great for climbing. I wore them on a trip to Bishop and never thought about them. Good for sleeping in. Plus, I like the print, the fit, and the fabric for everyday wear. I wear size 4/6 and got a small, fits well.

Good insulation layer

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Parka - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Down Parka - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 12, 2008

Very warm. Not waterproof or windproof, so if its really cold, windy, and wet I put a windproof fleece on underneath and a waterproof shell on over it. Warm, super comfortable, and really high quality everything. I bought it because it had a hood and was long enough to be warm...definitely worth the money.

Good for running

Petzl Tikka XP Headlamp

Petzl Tikka XP Headlamp

Rating for this product: 4 December 11, 2008

Not as bright as some, like the Princeton Tec Apex, but its bright enough for trail running. Its a very good balance between weight and brightness. Very easy to carry in one hand if you wrap it around. Stays on without slipping down if I put it on tight enough. My choice headlamp for everyday trail running.
