Great pants, but they run very short

The North Face Resolve Pant - Boys'

The North Face Resolve Pant - Boys'

Rating for this product: 3 May 7, 2008

Great weight, nice quality and they certainly do the job from a water-proofing point of view. The only reason they're not 5 stars is the very short fit. I've had a few pairs of The North Face's other pants in the same size (Boys/Large)and these are significantly shorter. I actually measured them (from the inseam) against a pair of TNF Meridian Surplus Convertibles and the Meridians were a full 4 inches longer! If TNF's other pants fit well, then be ready to buy some waterproof gaiters to get full waterproof coverage with these pants.

Perfect as designed

Arc'teryx Blade 13 Backpack - 793cu in

Arc'teryx Blade 13 Backpack - 793cu in

Rating for this product: 5 May 7, 2008

This backpack is absolutely perfect in doing what it's meant to do. Let's start with what it's not: A backpack you need to hold your laptop AND lots of other things. There is not much space for much more than a cell phone, laptop, notebook or writing pad, a few handouts, pens, biz cards, and iPod. But that is exactly what I use it for. If you need a bigger backpack to carry around a lot more stuff, then this is not the pack for you. But if you need the essentials, this is the best pack you can buy. The laptop is snug, the padding is amazing, and the side-pockets are genius. Honestly, my laptop has never felt more secure and more light! The way it holds it in place (and very close to my back - with great padding in between) makes it seem like I'm carrying a 1 lbs calculator, not a 7 lbs laptop. I've never recommended a product more...
