Petzl Adjama Harness - Men's

February 26, 2010

This is an all purpose harness, so they do run a bit big to make plenty of room for extra insulating layers.

Black Diamond Ascension Nylon Split STS Climbing Skin

February 3, 2010

Absolutely, the split skin will be better. With a ski that wide, you have got plenty of glue to keep the skins stuck on the ski bases. It makes a difference when you are on top of the that windy ridge trying to rip the skins off. Also it lightens up the skin quite a bit and makes it more packable, which makes a difference with something this wide.

Osprey Packs Variant 52 Backpack - 2990-3356cu in

December 20, 2009

Skip the pack cover that will get ripped or blown off, and try watering proofing your gear inside. Line your sleeping bag compression sack with a trashbag. Same with your clothes bag. Pots, tent, and food don't need to be waterproof. It works. Try safeway brand trash compactor bags. They kept my gear dry mtneering and sea kayaking in patagonia for three months.

Osprey Packs Variant 52 Backpack - 2990-3356cu in

December 20, 2009

I use this for everything from one day side-country trips, to multiday winter trips. It is definitely too big to use as a dedicated inbounds or even side country pack. But if you are only going to have one ski pack, this is a good one. Better to size up for long trips, then over stuff a 30L pack. Plus this pack cinches down real well.

Teko Merino Midweight Hiking Sock - Men's

Teko Merino Midweight Hiking Sock - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 20, 2009

These are the best socks ever made. No joke. I lived in three pairs of these socks for three months in patagonia. They went through the ringer. Wet and dry, not being washed for a month at a time. And they are still thick, warm, elastic, and green! You can't feel the toe seam at all.
Also the company stands by their product. I had one pair loose its insulation under the instep, leaving just the elastic support, and they sent me a a new pair no questions asked.
Buy a few pairs, you won't regret it.

Teko Merino Ski Light Sock - Men's

Teko Merino Ski Light Sock - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 20, 2009

Best socks ever. The seam at the toe is flawless, and durability its great.
Also, the company stands by their product. I had a pair of their hiking socks that I felt wore out prematurely, and they sent me a new pair no questions asked.
You won't regret this purchase.

Outdoor Research Mentor Jacket - Men's

I'd get a Large. I am 220, 6'. The large fits we well over as little as just a base layer or as much as my OR Chaos synthetic parka with fleece under.

Outdoor Research Lightweight Pack Cover

May 11, 2009

Yes this pack cover will fit. If you are able to pack all your items inside the pack then the size L should fit. But if you plan on attaching items to the outside like a rope, ice axe, or any extra clothing I would get the XL for the extra space.
Cheers!
