Columbia Ballistic Fleece Jacket - Toddler Girls'

Columbia Ballistic Fleece Jacket - Toddler Girls'

Rating for this product: 4 December 29, 2011

Bought my niece a size 3, and it barely fit so will be returning for a size 4. She will be 3 in one month and is an average-sized to slim for her age. Otherwise great color, well-made and cool looking sweater/jacket.

Merino wool is the best base layer by far for sports or cool-weather casual.

Icebreaker BodyFit 150 Legging - Women's

Icebreaker BodyFit 150 Legging - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 January 25, 2010

I this is my second pair. I enjoyed my first pair so much, but I just needed another (gained weight over summer!). Compared to other base layers I used to wear that were made with nylon or polyester, these Icebreakers perform so much better! I really like wearing these leggings under my insulated snowpants for snowboarding, when the temps are just below freezing. When the temps get super chilly and/there is a steady wind, another thin layer such as a thin polyester legging on top of these under your snow pants would be good, just to keep you toast on the lift. Normally I can't stand anything wool next to my skin (fair/sensitive skin) yet this merino wool is so different! It does not feel scratchy or prickly except maybe for just the first few seconds on me. What I do notice, (and am happy about) is that when I am sweaty from exertion the fabric does not get cold or clammy against my skin, yet my prior polyester leggings would for sure. One small complaint is the waistband digs in to my middle. I have a 31 waist and 39 hip and got the Medium (I am short too) so I did not fit the Med exactly so that may be why I end up with quite a red mark about the waist. Even so, I strongly feel that these leggings should have a wider waist elastic and/or be fabric-covered for more comfort. Note also: these 150's are not opaque enough to wear alone, in my opinion. Cover them up with additional pants/leggings when heading to the lodge for apres-ski!

Does lessen impact of falls.

Six Six One N8-6 Bomber Short

Six Six One N8-6 Bomber Short

Rating for this product: 4 January 10, 2010

These shorts have thin light padding all around the hips upper thighs and butt. This works not too bad to soften the impact of sudden falls. I am a female (with hips larger than waist), I was advised to get the medium by this site's gear expert, so far I notice that the shorts tends to ride up on me. This makes the butt area padding almost too high. Perhaps if I had gotten one size smaller that might ensure the hip area would fit lower and more snugly, but then the waist could be too tight as it is a fairly snug now. I have a 39 hip and a 30 waist. Anyway to answer someone's question: no the pads don't seem to be meant to come out. I notice these shorts definitely hold body heat. I sweat more when wearing these shorts but since it is another synthetic layer no surprise. I did buy myself a larger size of bib-snowpants (went from an 8 to a 12), which actually felt good due to the extra freedom of movement around the waist, but because I am short (5'2") the larger size meant the snow pant legs are too long and totally bunched up looking - but hey that's the style right? I do wish the tail-bone pad was longer and thicker (it is the same thin padding as the rest of the short). That is because for me as a beginner the whole reason I bought these shorts was to stop hurting my behind after falling hard on my tail-bone a bunch of times. PS : Advice for beginners: get a pair of knee pads - highly recommended - as well as some wrist-guards and wear a helmet of course. Your body will be way less bruised, and you will look forward to the next lesson rather than dread it!

Six Six One N8-6 Bomber Short

December 8, 2009

Are these unisex? If so, what would the correct size be for a short woman with waist 29 and hip 39?

injinji Performance Mini-Crew Toe Sock

October 17, 2009

Does anyone know how well would these work under (women's) soccer shoes? I usually wear 2 pairs of socks since my feet get so sweaty. I am asking mainly because the toe box design of soccer shoes is very fitted .

Backcountry.com The Goat Organic Cotton T-Shirt Short-Sleeve - Women's

Backcountry.com The Goat Organic Cotton T-Shirt Short-Sleeve - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 April 1, 2009

Nice shirt! Really like the neckline (not too high or boyish), best of all I like how it feels on, it is really nice fine soft cotton. Haven't washed it yet, but when i do I plan not to put it in the dryer for more than a few moments just in case of shrinkage. Even though my measurements matched the size chart for a medium, I ordered a Large, and it fits me great. I am 5'4" with a 39 inch bust, slim waist and 40 inch hip. The shirt fits me slightly snug in the bust, fits a bit loose, (as is to be expected) in the waist, perfect across the shoulder and smooth around the hip. It is not quite as long in the body as it looks in the photo; it reached mid-hip on me, which is fine for me. I am not overly crazy about the tan color, but this shirt was actually a gift so I can't complain. I would have preferred the olive, but there were no olive left in my size left. I have fair skin and "tan" which turned out to be kind of a creamy yellow-beige, is too blah on me but in itself the shirt is not an unattractive shade, however it would probably look fantastic on someone with a dark tan.

Mountain Hardwear Dihedral Sport Tank Top - Women's

Mountain Hardwear Dihedral Sport Tank Top - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 September 18, 2008

I just received this top, and I like it, but I am going to give it to my sister because it is a bit too big for me. I used the size chart when ordering, and according to my measurements (bust is 36 and waist is 30) I ordered a medium. The top appears gapey at the sides of the bust and i am a C- cup. The shelf bra is not bra-like at all, it has very little support, because it is just another layer of fabric gathered a bit with elastic, a fair ways below my bust closer to my waist. (Thjis may be because I am only 5"2). I probably should have ordered the small, but I was thinking that would be too tight, but and I can see now that due to the generous give of the fabric it would have been better. On the other hand, I have not washed the garment yet, so perhaps it will shrink a bit. Otherwise I like the style , the color I ordered is great (orange/grey) and the fabric is soft and not too thin or see-though-y.

I just received this top, and I like it, I like the style , the color I ordered is great (orange/grey) and the fabric is really soft and is not too thin or see-though-y. However, I am going to give it to my sister because this size was a bit too big for me. I used the size chart when ordering, and according to my measurements (bust 36, waist 30) I ordered the medium. With it on, there is a gapeyness at the sides of the bust, there is tons of room for it to stretch, and i am a C- cup. The shelf bra is quite large, and it's not bra-like (very little support) it is just a layer of fabric gathered with elastic, a fair ways below my bust closer to my waist actually. (This might be because I am only 5"2). I probably will re-order a small. Just to be sure I will wait until i have washed the garment in case it will shrink a bit.
