I've got some on the BD Gigawatt (135 underfoot) and they work great. Skiing soft snow obviously. With a Maestrale boot, so it may depend on how beefy your boots are. I think the "support plate" is bs, but that aside they do have a solid track record of being up for the task.

The Jovian is top of the line for certain. It's light and high tech. Breaths really well and sheds any precip. The fit is very form fitting. I would go bigger than normal if you want to layer much. It would be really hard to fit a sub zero underneath, but really you can just wear a sub zero over the top. If it's that cold it will be snowing not raining.

Hey Rob,
I haven't skied mine yet, but I've got friends who have many days on them. From what they say it's been softened up and isn't quite as agressive. And without the flat tail it doesn't rail as well on hard snow. I would say it's less of a charger and been downgraded to appeal to more people. However, I think it's still going to be a kick ass ski! The longer version 192cm has more metal and is closer to the older green model. I'm a huge fan of the older green model and hanging onto mine in case the new version is too soft.

No need for traction way out on your tip that hardly touches the snow and doesn't provide traction. You need it wall to wall under your foot. You'll be fine with 125 and save yourself some weight.

Go with the Zealot for an 'everyday' ski. They rip at the area and in crud and can handle the pow pretty well. The difference you will notice is stiffness. These skis are big, damp and stiff. They stomp airs and arc big turns. Pretty different from the Mega, but in a good way when it just isn't a Megawatt day. Or, wait for next years Megawatt which seems to be a mix between the Zealot and Mega. They stiffened it up so it's not as floppy and trimmed the huge tip back a bit. Hope that helps.

I think the answer to your question would be yes Randy. They ski the resort really well since they are stiff and hold a good edge. I use mine mainly for skiing steep lines in firm conditions in the backcounty. They aren't the lightest ski around at that width, but they make up for it on the downhill. I hope that helps.

Pablo,
The Justice is softer and more geared towards powder skiing. They are ok, but do not excel on piste like the verdicts do in my experience. Specifically, they don't 'carve or rail' like the verdict, but have a more smearing turn to them.

Tobin- The O1 are pretty rigid torsionally and my thoughts are you'll get the smother ride and less torque due to the boot, not so much the binding interface. They allow for really nice parallel performance and the touring mode is an amazing benefit.
I've had roughly 100+ days each season on the O1 since they came out and I haven't had anything 'break down' and I haven't heard of any other issues with them 'breaking'. Care to be more specific Jack Wizo?

You don't need the stuff sack. I was worried it might get punctured being so thin, but it's actually durable. Find something else to stash it in like an extra layer, shell or a sock. I think the stuff sack has gone a little too far. Everything seems to come with a stuff sack! End mini rant.

I've heard the idea thrown around, but haven't seen it done. I think by doing so you would loose the control that makes the T-race so great. I know tons of folks who just tour in the T-race now with a free pivot binding. Takes a small bit of getting accustomed to, but after a few tours you'll hardly notice it. Strolling through the flats is the only time it's a bugger (if you have the cant very far forward it doesn't allow you to straighten your legs, your quads stay flexed and it's a good workout).
