The soft shells are similar. Both are windproof and quite water resistant. The Leadville will probably fit a little slimmer, and it weighs a little less.

The fill number indicates the density of the down and feathers inside the jacket or vest. The number dictates that an ounce of that density down will expand to fill 580 cubic inches. Therefore, the higher the number, the denser the down, the warmer you stay. The feathers are most likely goose, and there will be far more down than feathers in a jacket of this type.
