Great Jacket...but

Mountain Hardwear Tonnerre Jacket - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Tonnerre Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 18, 2007

The overall fit of this jacket is great! The insulation keeps you very warm, pockets are positioned well, hood fits over a helmet and zippers are top notch. Mountain Hardwear Conduit keeps you dry, (I used this jacket in near blizzard conditions). The only drawback to this jacket (and the reason for the 4 rating) is it is a little too short. I have a smaller torso than average so I thought I would be fine but no. If you use this jacket with a bib, things will be fine.

Very light, great venting!

Giro Fuse Audio Helmet

Giro Fuse Audio Helmet

Rating for this product: 4 April 6, 2007

The Fuse helmet is very light! Once it's on I forget it's there. The adjustable venting works great. With the vents open I stay very cool and on cold snowy days, keeping the vents closed keeps me warm. The sound is great for this type of setup, as good as using the headphones from an iPod.

The only complaint (and the reason for the 4) is the earpads with the integrated speakers are a little tight. In defense of Giro and Skullcandy I haven't tried adjusting the straps much but the pads and more specifically the speakers inside the earpads put some pressure on my ears. It isn't painful, just a little pressure.

Overall very happy with the Fuse helmet, I would buy this again!!!

Nice Fit, Very Warm

Spyder Core Sweater - Men's

Spyder Core Sweater - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 1, 2007

This sweater fits great! The materials are high quality and works great as a mid layer in very cold conditions. This is heavy enough to wear alone for spring skiing!

Very happy with this purchase.

Great zip!

Mountain Hardwear Transition Featherweight Zip - Men's

Mountain Hardwear Transition Featherweight Zip - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 1, 2007

Out of the package the material was heavier than I thought it was going to be so, the first time out I assumed I would overheat. I didn't. The material breathes really well. It does an excellent job blocking the wind. I have not worn this in wet weather so I am not able to comment on that aspect. The fit is snug so if you are thinking of using this as a mid-layer or don't like a tight fit, order a size up. There are stretch panels but the material itself does not stretch.

As far as weather, In my case I get hot real easy so this is going to work excellent as a winter layer and spring outer layer.

Excellent Pants!!

The North Face Steep Tech Pant - Men's

The North Face Steep Tech Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 8, 2005

The North Face has done an EXCELLENT job with this pant. The material is very tough and enforced where needed, knees lower cuff and the backside. High Quality zippers. I stayed completely dry and there were no leaky seams. The fit is slim through the waist and hip and very generous from the thigh down. They combined a relief and vent port with the same zippers, very clever and it works great. As far as pockets, two on the hip. There are less expensive pants out there but if you're looking for a tough, all mountain, all conditions pant that can take out of bounds/backcountry abuse the Steep Tech is a great choice.

Great Pack

JanSport Equinox 33 Backpack - 2000 cu in

JanSport Equinox 33 Backpack - 2000 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 August 20, 2004

Pack has plenty of adjustments for comfort, enough straps for packing. The padding on the shoulder straps is a little thin, but still comfortable. Overall I am very pleased with this pack.

A+

The North Face Stake Set 10

The North Face Stake Set 10

Rating for this product: 5 August 20, 2004

I had not put much thought into tent stakes until I purchased these. As the other reviews stated, these ARE the best tent stakes. Very strong, light and have held on everything I have used them for. Great product!
