Mountain Hardwear Epic Jacket - Men's

November 25, 2008

I was looking for the same type of combo so I bought this jacket along with the Backcountry.com Shift Element softshell last month. The Shift jacket is very warm for how thin it is and it wicks water nicely in light rain. Both jackets pack small (especially the Epic, I can pack it into a Nalgene bottle if necessary). I got both in a medium and they layer nicely. The Shift jacket doesn't have a hood so it's good for light rain, then if the skies open up you can layer the Epic jacket and you don't have to deal with 2 hoods.

Backcountry.com Shift Softshell Jacket - Men's

November 3, 2008

Has anyone washed this jacket? I just got a medium today and it is almost too small, but I think I can manage as long as it isn't not going to shrink any. I wanted to know if I need to trade up for a large before I start wearing it. Thanks.
