Soft, thick, great cut

The North Face Khumbu Fleece Jacket - Girls'

The North Face Khumbu Fleece Jacket - Girls'

Rating for this product: 4 March 26, 2010

Great jacket -- love the cut on this so much more than the Denali. The Denali is short and boxy where this is long and lean, just like my kids. I purchased this in the L for my daughter who is soon to be 10, but is very tall (4'10") and thin. It's big now but will be good in the fall and we should get a few seasons out of it. The Medium might have been a perfect fit for right now but wouldn't have had any longevity for her. I got the boys version for her twin brother and the Mountain Light shells to zip them into. This would get 5 stars if they offered a Nepali version like they do for the boys that has the shoulder protection. Hoping the packs won't destroy the fleece on the shoulders!

The North Face Mountain Light Jacket - Girls'

March 25, 2010

Please check into your answer here. I just bought both this jacket (black/black) and the matching black khumbu fleece from Backcountry this month. It zips perfectly. I wouldn't want you to lose sales!

The North Face Mountain Light Jacket - Girls'

March 25, 2010

I just bought this jacket in black/black along with the girls Khumbu fleece in black (purchased both at Backcountry this month). It is indeed zip compatible in that color -- I have the Khumbu zipped into the Mountain Light right now. There was one season that The North Face made a compatibility mistake (that might have been back in 2007 though) -- the fleece would zip in at the bottom, but stuck out at the top. This black shell is from Fall 09 (there is a season code on the inside tag) and it works beautifully.

Great construction, sizing small

Columbia Silver Ridge Convertible Pant - Boys'

Columbia Silver Ridge Convertible Pant - Boys'

Rating for this product: 4 August 6, 2009

Great styling, quality construction. That said, I ordered these in a 10 for my tall/slim 9 year old son and found they were quite short and narrow (he often needs to wear slims). He wears plenty of other Columbia M bottoms (10/12) -- he got 2 new pairs of Columbia hiking shorts this summer and they are very roomy. Looks like if he is to wear this pant we will need to size up to a 12. He is just going into Gap size 10 and LL Bean 10 are too short but still too wide. I ordered him a size 12 in an LL Bean pant and I could have put two of him into the width of the pant.

Columbia Silver Ridge II Convertible Pant - Girls'

Columbia Silver Ridge II Convertible Pant - Girls'

Rating for this product: 4 August 6, 2009

The styling and construction is great, the sizing is off. I have twins and ordered these for my daughter and the boys version for my son. My daughter is still wearing size 8 Columbia shorts and my son easily wears other Columbia M bottoms, but the 10 in these was more like an 8.

Comfy active sandal

KEEN Venice Sandal - Women's

KEEN Venice Sandal - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 March 11, 2008

I had traded my Keen Newport H2 in for these as the Venice has a much easier entry/exit. Love the Robins Egg color -- it is more of a light denim blue in person. They do run a bit short and are generous in width. I'm a 9.5 and exchanged that for the 10, although I do have to adjust the bungee in quite a bit to fit my normal width feet. I have a pair of Keen Barbados flip flop sandals and I wear the 9.5 in that style. My daughter is on her second pair of Venice sandals (due to growth) and we wear them camping, to and from soccer, and any casual warm weather sporty situation.
