La Sportiva Testarossa Climbing Shoe

La Sportiva Testarossa Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 August 14, 2009

There's a reason these shoes are lovingly refered to as the testies. I have never been much of a lace up fan, but the lacing system on these shoes is so easily tied that it is not much of an issue at all- especially since these shoes are so aggressive that you will not want to chill around in them. The focused toe box, same as on the solutions, push La Sportiva over the other shoe companies in my opinion. Simply put, these are the best shoes on the market.

La Sportiva Barracuda Climbing Shoe

La Sportiva Barracuda Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 4 May 3, 2009

Cool design, held up for a solid 6 months before i tore through the web rubber top. fit is nice, though i prefer a slipper. shoe is pretty aggressive, but comfortable enough to wear in between burns. two side notes, they stretched out a good deal after wear, but shrunk back up while doing some deep water soloing so wearing them in the shower is an option. also, they dont stink at all, which is pretty wild.

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2009

This is one bomb ass jacket. Light and strong, entirely wind, water, and weather resistant. Hand pockets are perfect when you are backpacking or wearing a harness. When layered, awesome for temperatures down to freezing or solo when you are encountering some rain or on a breezy day. It is also way more durable than people give it credit for, I have snagged brush and taken some whippers into sharp walls and its held up perfect. Looks fly as hell too.

BD Gizmo

Black Diamond Gizmo Headlamp

Black Diamond Gizmo Headlamp

Rating for this product: 2 April 23, 2009

I don't like this headlamp at all. First of all, the light is detachable from the headband and often falls off. The light feels very cheap as well and its beam weak. Def worth $20 but wish i had put it towards something nicer. Now its just another spare...

This rope is bomb

Edelweiss Ally Single Climbing Rope - 10.3mm

Edelweiss Ally Single Climbing Rope - 10.3mm

Rating for this product: 5 April 23, 2009

Bought this rope before going on a week long trip to New River Gorge and couldnt be happier with it. It handles incredibly smoothly, no matter what your belay preference is- atc, 8, grigri, or cinch. The price cant be beat as well. I climb with it several times a week in spain and have not noticed any signs of wear and tear, despite several sketchy topropes with poor bolt placement.

Agility Shorts

The North Face Agility Short - Men's

The North Face Agility Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 2, 2009

This is my second pair of these shorts and I couldn't be more pleased with them. They have updated them, changing the brief-liner to a more comfortable wicking layer, taken weight off the short while adding a little more stretch, and adding the long option, which I purchased. I am 6'1 and around 170 lbs and a small long, fits perfectly. Bottom line, these shorts are great for climbing, running, lounging around and most water sports (they dry ridiculously fast!).

Arc'teryx Horizon T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 2, 2009

This shirt is awesome, I'm 6'1 around 170, picked up the small on sale for $20 and am very pleased. Amazingly soft, great fit around chest, arms, and waist, not too big and not too small. Def a great buy on sale, is consistent with arcteryx quality.

Perfect light weight jacket

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Alpha SL Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 2, 2009

Picked up this jacket in November while in Spain for big wall and some skiing and has surpassed all my expectations. The shell is completely wind and water proof, and when properly layered can take you to single digits. High pockets are perfect while wearing a harness and hood is plenty big for any style of helmet. Two of my favorite features are the high neck hood which protects you against the wind, and the lightweight velcro wrist adjustment. Consistent with other reviews, fit is athletic. The seams are bomb and jacket is so light and packable, I couldnt imagine going ANYWHERE without it.

Jet 7

Five Ten Jet 7 Climbing Shoe

Five Ten Jet 7 Climbing Shoe

Rating for this product: 5 March 2, 2009

These are my second pair of five tens, after being a solid la sportiva supporter for several years. Straight up, these shoes kick ass. Super aggressive, with an awesome toe box, these shoes have taken a beating but do not let up on even the tiniest of edges. The heel also has an awesome groove which lets you throw nasty heel hooks with sticking power left and right. The best feature though, and probably my favorite is the crossing velcro, making them a breeze to throw on. The super fat tongue is also real comfortable and breathes well so that your feet aren't all sweaty and stinky. One more thing: these guys do not stretch so I wouldnt recommend going down more than a size and a half from your street shoe. I got a 9 and am street 10, fit is perfect.
