Awesome goggle and frame but pricy

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles

Smith I/O Interchangeable Optics Spherical Series Goggles

Rating for this product: 3 December 14, 2010

The goggle is pretty nice, it should be for 160 dollars. I really don't see the reason for anyone to buy such an expensive pair of goggles other than to have the "best" goggles out. I got these goggles from a rep and i do like them and they fit great but so do my other goggles at half the price.

Scarpa Mobe Alpine Touring Boot

Scarpa Mobe Alpine Touring Boot

Rating for this product: 4 December 14, 2010

I like this boot. I have used the scarpa tornado pro the past few seasons, and i know that they are not really the same but in terms of comfort and response i feel the mobe is far better. The boot's construction is grea the switch for walk mde is durable and easy to grab and engage or disengage, as opposed to the tornado which often stuck in place. The boot is a 125 flex with a built in Booster strap and really drives power directly into the ski. The sole is like any lugged sole and provides a good base for climbing and traction. It would of been nice to be able to have interchangable Virbrim soles for the days i would want to use an alpine binding but i have alpine boots for that so no real complaint on that end, it just would of been nice.

Overall i reqlly like this boot and with more days on the snow i think it will become my everyday boot, both in bounds and out.

Super warm

Patagonia Fitz Roy Down Jacket - Men's

Patagonia Fitz Roy Down Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 12, 2010

Normally i tend to keep away from down jackets and more often opt with layering and such. This is a really nice jacket that i can wear around town, at night or maybe a couple of morning lift served runs with nothing but a tee-shirt. It keeps me warm up during the harsh northeast kingdom winters. The jacket is not "puffy" which originally kept me away, it wears well and dosen't make me look like i've put on 50 pounds.

Points for the name, Vamos Argentina!

Black Diamond Fritschi Diamir Freeride Plus Binding

July 8, 2009

if all your looking for is a resort/slackcountry or an occasional day touring binding i would recommend the dukes hands down. the extra weight is really nothing you will notice. looking at the specs the new dukes are 2lbs 15oz and the fritschi's are 2lbs 4oz. the dukes in my opinion are a much more sturdy well build binding, not to say the FR are not but the duke has virtually no roll and a zero chance of having the binding switch into touring mode accidentally.

also i would look into a slightly bigger ski, depending on your size the Atomic RT-86 may be a bit small at 86 underfoot for either binding. for me i would stick to anything around 99 underfoot. but depending on your body type and style it shouldn't matter too much.

DAKINE Deluxe Tune Tuning Kit

DAKINE Deluxe Tune Tuning Kit

Rating for this product: 3 December 20, 2008

this kit is very basic. it will get you started tuning your skis, it kinda pissed me off that it said in the instructions it was only for snowboards but... the stones, file and edge tuner are worth the money. if your just starting out or looking for a throw away tuning kit i'd say its a good buy

good light one quiver pole

Black Diamond Adjustable Probe Ski Pole

Black Diamond Adjustable Probe Ski Pole

Rating for this product: 3 December 15, 2008

this pole rules but if your buying it for a probe i'd think it over, it works and you can use it if the unthinkable happens. removing the basket come off with a bit of practice and i think it would take as long as grabbing your probe from your pack, but it may be a bit short. the pole is extremely durable and feels great. using the pole for touring is really where i use the pole its great for when you need two different lengths.all around a great pole.

Westcomb Mirage Jacket - Men's

Westcomb Mirage Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 12, 2008

this is the best jacket i have ever worn. It fits perfect almost like i had it tailored. the construction is unbelievable every inch of this jacket is impeccable. i'll grow tired of the jacket way before i will need to replace it.

Event is the best fabric i have come across, the jacket i got has pit-zips but i doubt i will have to use them very often.

the jacket is beautiful and eVent is the future, buy this jacket

Black Diamond Factor Alpine Touring Boot - Men's

Black Diamond Factor Alpine Touring Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 October 2, 2008

the boot itself is cool and the fit seems good, but not for a wide foot. the weight was another factor its a bit on the heavy side, but i'm assuming their target market is resort skiiers. so that should not be a problem for them, but an extra pound or two really starts to hurt on longer tours. the wire that tightens the boot seems that it could break easily and then the boot would essentialy not work. its feels like weak plastic and a hard fall or something could compleatly take it off. i guess this winter we'll all get a better idea of how well it works out.
glad to see BD making boots, i'll def be getting a 2nd gen pair.
