Backcountry.com Backcountry Backside - Sampler Wax - GWP
March 7, 2012
longevity of your wax depends on many factors including: how coarse the snow is, if you're skiing hard pack or powder, whether your skis have a sintered or extruded base, how the wax was applied and what temperature wax you used i.e. a warm temp wax is much softer than a cold wax so it'll wear away faster. From experience I am a huge fan of Holmenkol wax specifically the Beta Mix(red wax 7F-25F) because of the huge temp range, but if you want an all temp wax their pink all temp stuff is great because it's really hard and lasts a long time. So to answer your question I've heard Purl makes good wax and should do just as well as the Swix.

Rossignol Phantom SC97 Ski
February 5, 2010
Depending on height and weight you might want to go with the freeski 14 or 15. Both have the metal heel but the 15 has the all metal world cup pivoting toe. Personally I would go with the 15 for a more solid toe piece and slightly smoother release but i realize budget can be a factor so in that case the 14 would be the better choice. hope this helps

you're going to get more of a livelier feel with these given the wood core and metal laminate versus the foam core of the mythic riders so it will be super solid at speed and carve big arcs as well
