Backcountry.com Backcountry Backside - Sampler Wax - GWP

March 7, 2012

longevity of your wax depends on many factors including: how coarse the snow is, if you're skiing hard pack or powder, whether your skis have a sintered or extruded base, how the wax was applied and what temperature wax you used i.e. a warm temp wax is much softer than a cold wax so it'll wear away faster. From experience I am a huge fan of Holmenkol wax specifically the Beta Mix(red wax 7F-25F) because of the huge temp range, but if you want an all temp wax their pink all temp stuff is great because it's really hard and lasts a long time. So to answer your question I've heard Purl makes good wax and should do just as well as the Swix.

Backcountry.com Facet T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 29, 2011

Probably my favorite BC shirt, and have received multiple compliments. I'm 6'1" and 200 lbs so i went with the XL. Good choice for me but probably not the right size if you've got a keg going on. My boxers do show a little with my arms all the way up but not really a huge concern with an everyday T-shirt. Again BC shirts run small so order a size up

Rossignol Phantom SC97 Ski

February 5, 2010

Depending on height and weight you might want to go with the freeski 14 or 15. Both have the metal heel but the 15 has the all metal world cup pivoting toe. Personally I would go with the 15 for a more solid toe piece and slightly smoother release but i realize budget can be a factor so in that case the 14 would be the better choice. hope this helps

Rossignol Phantom SC97 Ski

you're going to get more of a livelier feel with these given the wood core and metal laminate versus the foam core of the mythic riders so it will be super solid at speed and carve big arcs as well

Nixon Quatro Watch - Men's

Nixon Quatro Watch - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 29, 2009

I am regularly complimented on this watch and get the looks that come with it. It's not super flashy but the square face does the trick. makes me laugh at people who buy exorbitant watches that cost as much as a car. Can't forget to mention that it has a nice weight and feel to it.

Smith Prodigy Goggles

Smith Prodigy Goggles

Rating for this product: 4 September 28, 2009

Had these goggles for a couple seasons now and am really happy with them. Fit really well and the smith lenses are super clear not to mention never fog up with the adjustable vent even when hiking. i use these goggles with the smith variant brim helmet and together keep my head dry and comfortable. only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that changing lenses isn't the easiest thing. after the first time it gets a lot faster though. did i mention that they look sick?

Oakley Infantry Jacket - Men's

Oakley Infantry Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 September 28, 2009

just got this jacket in the mail today from steepandcheep and am excited to bust it out this winter. the thinsulate is nice and low profile. comfortable enough to wear it around all day and not want to get out of it.

it fits really well in the shoulders and chest with a little room to move. I'm 6'1" 195 pounds and the large works for me.

can't give it 5 stars because i haven't had a chance to ski with it yet

BAD ASS

Salomon Czar Ski

Salomon Czar Ski

Rating for this product: 5 January 30, 2009

Took these skis up to Mt. Baker the other day and they kick ass! They float the pow and stomp the landings not to mention charge through the chop. The rocker tip makes such a big difference but the regular camber underfoot still makes it stable and fun on the flats. All around amazing ski!
