The North Face Assailant GTX Hiking Shoe - Men's

October 3, 2009

I bought these shoes about a month ago. I am of Indian origin and have what I consider 'normal' feet - what I mean is not too wide or narrow. I am not an expert on shoes or feet to give you a very detailed or technical answer but I like the shoes. They fit me well and I wear them often. Did not use them in pouring rain yet to test if they are really waterproof but I liked the fact that they are GTX (waterproof, breathable) and the Vibram soles. Some people might not like the specific color (Elixir Brown/Polaris Orange)but overall I am happy with the shoes. Good value at that price ($ 69.97 all inclusive). My boys are in boy scouts and I plan to go hiking, camping etc and plan on using these shoes. I have another pair of Columbia shoes for the snow and extreme cold. These are my hiking and general use shoes. I like them and have no regrets buying them.
If you have wide feet, I am not sure how they would fit. Either way, if they do not fit well you could return them - I think the most you could lose is probably $ 7 for return shipping.
