I love being outside. Everything my family and I do for fun has to do with the outdoors. I am currently trying to dominate everything in Idaho (at lease as much as school allows). South East Idaho is a good place to kick back, relax and enjoy what God has given us.

Feel Is Amazing!

Burton Cartel EST Snowboard Binding

Burton Cartel EST Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 May 18, 2009

Just Got the CUSTOM X Wide board and was introduced to the EST binding system. I figured if I put the money into the board I might as well make sure that I get ALL the benefits of the system. I have never been more surprised at the simplicity of any equipment. Two screws put them on, there is a window that shows a "reading" of what degree your bindings are set at, and a window that allows you to see the board below to locate the reference marks to adjust if you are stance forward or want to be exactly in the middle of the board. I had them on and adjusted in 5 min. The other cool thing about the way these bindings are set up is if you need to adjust the angle of the binding on the board you can do it with your boots still on. Also, the they feel so secure because the screw spacing is so wide. Your board feels more responsive, not to mention that you are able to feel the board better because the bindings don't have a traditional "plate and base" system. I highly recommend looking at a pair and seeing how amazing they are. If you are going to by an EST style Burton board, spend the extra money and get the EST bindings. You will be very, very happy with your decision.

Made For Smaller Frames

Osprey Packs Atmos 35 Overnight Backpack - 1900-2300 cu in

Osprey Packs Atmos 35 Overnight Backpack - 1900-2300 cu in

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2009

I got this pack for My wife. She tried a North Face pack before but it just didn't fit right. She loves this Pack. Fits great, has an awesome pannel on the back that allows a massive amount of air to flow over your back and helps you keep your back sweat regulated. She can wear it high and tight or let it drop down low. However, when we go camping, I usually haul most of the gear and let her enjoy herself with a lighter pack. So, if you are looking for a pack that you can take on a long trip (even if you go ultra lite) you might want to look at something else.

The North Face Hayden Canvas Shoes - Men's

The North Face Hayden Canvas Shoes - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2009

I agree with all of the other reviews done on these shoes. They are awesome! I also own more shoes than any guy should have and I have second handed most of my old loaf around shoes and just stick to these guys. They broke in fast, have worn well and are super compfy. Also, the fact that they are partially recycled is always good. The one thing I don't like is the price (mostly because I want to buy another pair). The North Face still knows what up.

Good With The Ruler

Burton Mission Snowboard Binding

Burton Mission Snowboard Binding

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2009

I've had these bindings for 2 years. Fantastic! Put three solid months on these guys one season (yes, about 90 days of pow and park). Worked great with my boots (Burton Rulers). I think that some of the people who have had complaints about these either don't have burton boots or don't know how to ride without breaking their gear. The high backs are great for long backside days and you can move enough in them that you can still put in down in the park. The only complaint I have is that I forget sometimes to put my backs down when I get on the lift and the padding got tore up pretty good the first few times I went out, but other then that ZERO complaints.

Burton Ruler Snowboard Boot - Men's

Burton Ruler Snowboard Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 19, 2009

These boots were an upgrade on some pretty old boots that I was limping along in for about 3 seasons. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I am a burton man now! I have taken these fellas out durring the day and finnished off with a round of night boarding and the only thing that sucked about the day was it being over. My feet felt great. The Heat molding is really good too. Perfect fit. Make sure you go some where that does it (it is just a bit quicker). I have used these for two solid seasons and have recommended them to all of my pals (all of them that have these boots love'em too). If you are contimplating getting something else, please don't. You'll kick yourself for it later. Oh, and the lacing system is amazing. Just as fast as those damn skiers now.

Nice on All Ice

Black Diamond Raven Ice Axe

Black Diamond Raven Ice Axe

Rating for this product: 5 January 9, 2009

I Really got this for a future winter hike on Mt. Borah in Idaho but had to justify getting it right now(my wife doesn't always buy into what I'm trying to get). Well, this guy stays in my car and I've acutally used it more to knock out the ice in my wheel wells more then I've hiked with it. The few times I have used it have been great. I'm 6' tall and I use a size 80 and it does just fine to assist on steep inclines. You will definatley want to get a leash and the Axe Protector.

Backcountry.com Titanium Cookset - 700ml Pot /Spork

Backcountry.com Titanium Cookset - 700ml Pot /Spork

Rating for this product: 3 January 4, 2009

I picked up a couple of these dudes and was pretty excited about it. I had never had Titanium cook ware before. I have to admit that they are super, SUPER lite. However, the pot is extremely small. I'm talking like coffee cup small. I'm a big guy and I would need three of these fellas' go'en at the same time to get enough food in me. Definitely go for a bigger pot.

Not for wet slop

Black Diamond Jetstream Glove Liner

Black Diamond Jetstream Glove Liner

Rating for this product: 4 December 29, 2008

First of all love the gloves. I've been looking for something windproof for a while that didn't have all of the bulky Gor-Tex attached. I live in a really windy place and when I'm walking on campus these gloves are the ticket. Really easy on and off too. The only thing I don't like is that when I am getting all of the slop off of my car or bike they soak up all the water they can (like a camel in the desert). I acutally like them a lot more when it is super cold and no slush. I've already used them in sub-Zero temps this year and they are awesome. Get'em. Right now the price is too good to pass up.

I got these "Gems" for my wife for her birthday last year and to my suprise she loves 'em. I was really impressed as well with how easy the lenses are to change out. My wife had the habit of carrying around a few different pairs of classes but after she got these beauties she sticks to the one. Also, I give these a "5" be cause my wife looks smoken' hot in 'em.

Super Light to stir it right

Backcountry.com Long Handled Spoon

Backcountry.com Long Handled Spoon

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

Picked this little treasure up for my father in law for his birthday. I was tired of going backpacking with him and watching him use a plastic spoon to stir his grub. After watching him melt through about 5 spoons in the past few years I decided he would appreciate the spoon. The guy loves it. He was almost in tears when he got it. Any who, it's light, "tight" and won't melt. Definately pick it up if your the guy that cooks for everyone when you go on a walk about.

MSR Alpine Stowaway Pots

Rating for this product: 4 December 15, 2008

This dude is Heavy. If you are car camping, go for it, great little pot. If you are a backpacker, spend the extra doe and buy titanium. Got it for my father in law, and he loves it. However it did replace a huge pot he always drug around.

MSR Fuel Bottles DO NOT USE

MSR Fuel Bottles DO NOT USE

Rating for this product: 4 December 15, 2008

I picked up a couple of these guys for myself and a pal of mine that was getting married. I got the 33 oz but it was a little big for me because I backpack a lot and try to keep my cooking to a minimum. However, by buddy is a rafting guide and he is gone for a week or two at a time and it will work perfect for him. Also, they are pretty tough.

Brunton Bruntane Canister

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

Good little fuel cell. Took it on a three day trek and lasted. Using it with the Raptor helped because the cooking time is super fast. Boiled 6 times with it (about 2 cups per) and even had enough to make hot chocolate for my daughter when I got home.

This Guy is MONDO

Yakima LoadWarrior

Yakima LoadWarrior

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

Got this bad boy to keep from trading in the Subaru for a Mini Van. I found myself running out of space on long hauls with the kiddies. Now that we have two rug rats we needed to have more room. The warrior easily doubled by hauling capacity, and that is without the extension in. The only thing I don't like about it is it drops my MPG (miles/Gal) by about 5 miles. Other then that, fantastic. It also makes the car look super Bad A**.

Makes your Sissy Wife Tough

The North Face Liberation Pant - Women's

The North Face Liberation Pant - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

I am always looking for ways to help my wife enjoy mother nature, which can be hard because she hates the cold. Gor-Tex has become her (and My) best friend. These pants have brought her out into the cold and kept her super warm. We live in the (unofficially) windiest little town in Idaho and she doesn't feel a thing. Really good construction and she looks smoken hot in 'em too.

The North Face Greta Triclimate Jacket - Women's

The North Face Greta Triclimate Jacket - Women's

Rating for this product: 5 December 15, 2008

My wife has an ARC'TERYX Gor-Tex jacket for the Nasty days, but it is black and she doen't like wearing it all of the time (accessorizing or something like that). So I decided I would cater to her needs and see how she liked this little beauty (the pink and white). Loves and and it is still super warm. She also says that she has never felt cold in it. Happy wife, Happy Me.

High Pockets with purpose

The North Face Condor Triclimate Jacket - Men's

The North Face Condor Triclimate Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 17, 2008

I have had this jacket for about a month now and was having a hard time justifying the purchase until I got it. Liner is great, Shell is bomb-proof, and together, weather stands no chance. About the high pockets. They are high, but very functional when you are wearing a pack that has a hip belt. They are actually perfect for mountaineering. It is one of the best jackets I have ever owned.
