So i got this tent for christmas and i wanted to practice putting

So i got this tent for christmas and i wanted to practice putting it up. Without using stakes to secure the base, does this tent have a tendency to squeeze the floor together at the center point of the tent? Hope this makes sense.

Is there a way so you can clip both hoods down at the same time? Or is it one or the other? Also where would be the best location for your tent.
