Marmot Zeus Down Jacket - Men's

November 17, 2009

I believe this jacket is in between the MontBell UL Tec Down and UL Down Inner for warmth. I tried on all 3 tonight, and am leaning towards this jacket. I am looking for an insulation layer, and feel the UL Down Inner is a bit too light with fewer features. The UL Tec Down has similar features but seemed more of an outer layer than an insulation layer. This jacket seemed to fit the job of insulation layer better than those 2.

Also, I am a Small in this jacket but a Medium in the MontBells, if that helps answer size questions.

I love this thing. It's my ski base layer on cold days but is comfortable (not too hot) hiking, climbing, mtn biking, etc.

Marmot NyxTent 2-Person 3-Season

Marmot NyxTent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 5 May 30, 2008

I picked this tent based on price, weight, and it's roominess. The poles do add usable room. It is simple to put up and pack. Coming from a 3/4 season 2 person tent, I honestly thought something was missing when I opened my shipment... very light.

I have even used this tent on a sheet of ice as a test (mid-April Breckenridge, stakes hammered into snow). It handled a windy night at 11,000 ft like a champ; obviously didn't keep a ton of warmth in at that time, but it is an excellent above-freezing tent. I plan on using this tent for years to come.
