Mountain Khakis Original Mountain Pant - Men's

Mountain Khakis Original Mountain Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 1 May 12, 2011

I tried these on before the Alpine Utility Pants. The build quality is excellent - these even have the fabric doubled up on the backs of the ankles. My stats - 6', 190, 33" waist, 34" inseam - and tried on the 34x34 pants. They initially felt great, until I went to move and realized the waist is designed to ride about 2" above what is comfortable. My preference is for them to ride about 1" below my iliac crest (hip bone). These about cover my belly button. Erkel, these pants are for you.

stout pants, waist is high

Mountain Khakis Alpine Utility Pant - Men's

Mountain Khakis Alpine Utility Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 1 May 12, 2011

These pants are definitely stout. Construction and material are excellent - doubled up on the knees...even doubled on the backs of the ankles which is a great idea. Unfortunately, as with their other products, the waist height was designed for Grandpa (hits about a half inch below the original mountain pants). The fit is athletic -- I'm 6', 190, 33" waist, 34" inseam, and tried the 34x34 pants. Upon picking them up, I completely forgot about the price. After trying them on, they went straight back into the box. Please make a low-rise version!!!

high waist shorts

Mountain Khakis Teton Twill Short - Men's

Mountain Khakis Teton Twill Short - Men's

Definitely nice shorts - that provide belly button coverage. If you lower to hip height, the crotch totally binds on your legs.

High Waist

Mountain Khakis Granite Creek Short - Men's

Mountain Khakis Granite Creek Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 1 May 12, 2011

Only order these if you like a high waist - it falls about 2" higher than would be desired, so if worn comfortably, the legs bind. The waist size runs slightly smaller than specified - tried four different styles from Mountain Khakis and these were a bit smaller than the others (34").

Great performance.

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Hestra Army Leather Gore-Tex XCR Glove

Rating for this product: 4 March 3, 2008

I'm very happy with my XCR gloves - performed well over three weeks of Utah powder and cold weather and BC cat skiing.

Two changes I'd make. Hestra sizes based hand length rather than girth - so they're a bit snug - too snug to be able to wear liners, particularly around the wrist. A "fat" version would be nice! They are great for dexterity though. I was also surprised at how warm they are. The other change - removable liners to dry them faster.

Not durable

Venom Deck Pant - Men's

Venom Deck Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 February 18, 2008

I got these pants two days ago - looked to be great quality, nice features, and a typical spyder product. Unfortunately, after a half day skiing, one of the knees was gone. Brushing up against a sapling rubbed the exterior coating off and put a small tear in the fabric. So, if you stay in-bounds, these would be a great pant. If you venture off the beaten path, they won't last. Sypder - please reinforce the knees!!!
