Great boot if you don't weigh 215 lbs.

Black Diamond Factor Alpine Touring Boot - Men's

Black Diamond Factor Alpine Touring Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 11, 2009

I loved this boot, however, for my 90% in bounds and 10% out, it simply wasn't stiff enough for steep stuff, or bumps. Unresponsive compared to my Nordica SpeedMachine 14's. 130 flex is brand specific.
Probably around 80-to 100.

Nordica Speedmachine 14 Ski Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 11, 2009

I skied this boot for about 4 years, and loved it. Incredibly responsive. I tried the BD Factor for A.T. and inbounds. I'm going back to the Nordica. With the great flex, soft and hard mode, it's ideal for on/off piste, and short skins.
Big thumbs up.

These things are really well built! Hummer like. They run probably two sizes large.
I wear 12 and I think 10 would have been perfect even with thick socks.
You won't be sorry.

Suunto X6HRT Titanium Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Suunto X6HRT Titanium Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Rating for this product: 5 November 21, 2008

Love this thing. It's indestructible!
Keeps perfect time, altimeter works great. Compass is dead on if you calibrate it and set it for your areas declination. Barometer came in handy during a mountain bike ride.
I highly recommend it.

Arc'teryx Sidewinder SV Pant - Men's

Arc'teryx Sidewinder SV Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 7, 2008

I'm 6'2" go 215lbs and the large/tall's feel like they've been custom fit. Anytime you forget you have gear on while your out skiing hard as hell you know it's great gear, and fits perfectly!

If you normally have to buy extra big pants just to fit your quad and glute muscles in them, these are the technical pant for you!

Arc'teryx Sidewinder AR Jacket - Men's

Arc'teryx Sidewinder AR Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 7, 2008

As usual Arcteryx gear is phenomenally designed. So nice to be able to zip the hood out when you need it, or to have it stowed until you do. Great forethought to zag the zipper under the chin.
Very fucntional venting.

Rating for this product: 5 November 7, 2008

Bartending near Deer Valley gives you some benefits. After no new snow for a few days I grabbed a pair of these from Christy's. I did everything I could to get out of shape on this ski, and simply couldn't do it! This is one of the funnest groomer/mogul skis I've ever been on. I was having so much fun, I completely forgot about using the switch!
If there's no new snow, or you're an on piste skier, this is a fantastic ski!

Black Diamond Factor Alpine Touring Boot - Men's

Black Diamond Factor Alpine Touring Boot - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 4, 2008

I've got some insiders @ B.D. They held production back to iron out the kinks.
The boa cable is 2-3 times stronger than was necessary for the stress produced and shouldn't be a problem.
Looking forward to beating the hell out of em in bounds in the Cottonwoods, and out of bounds as well.
Will report soon.

Oakley O Rokr Pro Audio Sunglasses

Oakley O Rokr Pro Audio Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 5 September 30, 2008

I was dubious about picking these up, as a pair of wireless headphones I had wouldn't work unless I had the ipod on my arm.
Not the case with the Oakley set up.
So nice to tuck the Ipod in a safe place!
Calls come in crystal clear, and the voice dial mode works flawlessly!
Highly recommend!

This is the funnest ski I've ever been on!

Scott P4 Alpine Ski

Scott P4 Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 September 30, 2008

After spending 3/4 of the winter on 5 different demo skis, a friend put me on his P4's. I was reluctant at first because I didn't want to limit when I could use it because the P4 was a fat ski. I've never been more surprised in my life! This ski rips! It doesn't ski like a big ski at all. Powder, trees, bumps, tight turns etc... I felt like I was 12 years old on my bmx bike ripping down the sidewalk kicking over trashcans! Everywhere I went the P4 shined.
Love the 70's Chevy Van topsheet!

Volkl Tigershark 12 Foot Power Switch Alpine Ski w/ Motion iPT 14.0 TS Binding

September 10, 2008

I played on that ski last year. I've never pushed a ski on groomers so hard and felt so confident. I skied harder and faster than I ever had including into some uncomfortable speeds and situations, and literally felt like I was always on rails. Tried to ski out of control and couldn't do it.Unbelievable ski.

Rating for this product: 5 February 20, 2008

I had my heart set on picking up a pair of Gotamas after skiing them @ Alta. That is until a friend let me play on the P 4's.
This thing is nimble as hell in the deep stuff, and rips through the bumps and crud!
Groomers were no problem.
I couldn't believe I was on a ski that was 108 underfoot.

Phenomenal design aspects

Ortovox Free Rider 26 Plus Pack - 1587cu in

Ortovox Free Rider 26 Plus Pack - 1587cu in

Rating for this product: 5 February 18, 2008

I saw this pack and tried it on @ the O.R. show this winter.
They make the back silhouette narrow so if /when you have it on you push your elbows back, you feel like you have nothing on!
The hip-belt is karate gi like, and you don't have any hotspots. They got the d.o.t. specs and design for the back pad from the superbike safety companies so if you huck a cliff have a bad landing your back is protected. The whistle is upside down so when you need it, it's less likely to fill with debris.

Black Diamond Legend Glove

Black Diamond Legend Glove

Rating for this product: 5 January 29, 2008

Picked up a pair of these in a blizzard in the Wasatch! My hands were starting to freeze. I was naturally concerned about how little glove there was and whether it would keep my hand warm. It was like my hands were sitting in a hot tub!
Great gloves!
